Tryn came back later that night. It was probably after he had confirmed Julianne was fine. However, my bodyguards prevented him from entering the building. Thus, he could only stand outside and look
up ät window.

It was unbearably cold every night during the winter, but tonight was especially so because there was a blizzard. The cold wind was biting as he stood there, dressed thinly. I wasn’t long before he was covered in snow and looked like a living snowman.
Despite this, Irvin motionlessly remained where he was. He could see the light in my bedroom window was on, so he knew I could see him and that I was watching him.
It was true. I was watching him. However, unlike him, I was lazily curled up on my chaise lounge by the window. I was also holding a glass of hot chocolate and feeling comfortable and cozy.
Since he enjoyed playing the martyr so much, I would let him.
The cold from the blizzard was nothing compared to the night I nearly died on that remote mountain. And since Irvin had made me suffer so much, I should at least get a little payback.
Eventually, I grew tired of watching him. With a yawn, I turned off the lights and went to bed.
I had been sleeping quite well these past few days. In fact, I slept so soundly that I didn’t even notice when an ambulance pulled up and took Irvin away in the middle of the night.
I only found out after I had woken up the next morning. My cleaning lady told me it had happened around 3:00 am.
I clicked my tongue. That weakling had only lasted for a short while.
Since we couldn’t settle our divorce privately and amicably, Irvin and I eventually saw each other in the courtroom.
When we had first fallen in love, we naively thought we would spend the rest of our lives together. So, who would have thought it would end in just a few short years and in such an undignified manner?
Irvin kept trying to talk to me these past few days, but I avoided him. And no matter how he stood outside my building, I refused to meet with him. This left him with no other option but to meet me in court.
He showed up on the day of the hearing despite not wanting to fight me in a divorce lawsuit. His eyes immediately filled with tears upon spotting me.
When he fell asleep, he had been enveloped by my warm love. However, when he woke up, our relationship was broken beyond repair. So now, he looked like he was about to fall apart.
Irvin had so much he wanted to say to me. Yet, the first thing he did was explain his actions from when he thought I had pushed Julianne.
“I wasn’t accusing you of anything before, babe. It’s just that Lianne had been-”
I ignored him and walked straight into the courtroom.
He followed after me and tried to talk to me again. “Please don’t treat me like this, babe…”
However, I remained distant.

Irvin felt as though he had been stabbed in the heart. He looked utterly helpless as he stared at me. He was clueless. He had no idea what to do now that he had done everything he could think of.
My past self had loved him too much. No matter how angry he had made me, I would quickly get over my anger. And it always happened regardless of whether he coaxed me just a little or not at all. Because of this, he genuinely didn’t know what else he could do to win me back.

All he could do was stand on the opposing side of mine in the courtroom.
Court was now in session.
We began by presenting the evidence I had submitted.
First up was evidence showing Irvin was the largest shareholder of the new company he had started. Mark posited that he had transferred our joint shares to fund its creation
Irvin admitted to being the company’s owner and largest shareholder. However, he denied using our shares to start the company. Instead, he claimed it was just a new business venture. He spoke with great confidence as he genuinely hadn’t used our joint shares to start the company
My side didn’t insist on pursuing this either. Given that he had admitted to ownership of the company, I could be granted at least half of his assets in the divorce.
