Luna Mira’s Choice novel Chapter 15

_Killian’s POV_

The next morning, I reached out to my best friends, Pete and Hayden. They were the two people I trusted the most, and if I was going to find Mira, I needed their help. We arranged to meet at my place. My parents were out, so we had the whole house to ourselves. I paced the room, running my fingers through my hair, my mind spinning with thoughts of Mira.

Finally, the doorbell rang, and I hurried to open it. Pete and Hayden stepped in, both looking curious and a bit concerned.

“Killian, what’s going on?” Pete asked as we settled down on the couch. “You sounded pretty serious.”

I took a deep breath, trying to figure out where to begin. “I… I need your help to find Mira.”

They both looked at me, stunned. Pete raised his eyebrows, and Hayden just blinked, clearly taken aback.

“Find Mira?” Hayden echoed, his face scrunched in confusion. “Why? I thought you were marrying Sophia.”

“I am,” I replied, clenching my fists. “But… it’s not what you think. I messed up, and I need to apologize to Mira.”

Pete’s eyes narrowed. “Apologize? Killian, I thought you had moved on. The whole pack knows about you and Sophia. What is going on?”

I hesitated, feeling a wave of shame rise up inside me. “I don’t expect you to understand, but… things aren’t right with Sophia. I can’t explain everything, but I know now that I was wrong. Mira is my true mate, and I… I need to make things right.”

Hayden shook his head, his tone skeptical. “Look, Killian, plenty of guards searched for her after she left. They checked every corner of the forest around our territory.

There was no sign of her. She could be… gone.”

I felt a surge of anger at his words, and my jaw tightened. “She is not dead,” I said sharply, forcing myself to stay calm. I didn’t want to fight with them; I needed their help. “She could have found refuge with another pack. Some Alpha nearby might have taken her in.”

Pete and Hayden exchanged a look, and Pete let out a sigh. “Come on, Killian. You know how it works. Once she left our territory, she became a rogue. No Alpha would take in a rogue. It is too risky.”

I glared at Pete, a flash of frustration coursing through me. “Just… just try, okay? Please. If there is even a chance she is out there, I have to know. I need to apologize. I need to… make it right.”

They both looked at me, the silence stretching between us. Finally, Pete shrugged, nodding reluctantly. “Fine. I’ll ask around. I have got a few friends in nearby packs. I’ll see if any of them have heard of someone fitting Mira’s description.”

I let out a breath I didn’t realize I had been holding. “Thank you, Pete. I’ll send some photos of Mira to help.”

Hayden looked at me, his expression softening a bit. “Are you sure this is what you want, Killian? You are risking a lot, especially with Sophia and the wedding coming up.

I nodded, my voice steady. “I have to do this, Hayden. Mira deserves the truth, and I owe her that much.”

He sighed and gave me a small nod. “Alright, then. I’ll help you. Send the photos, and we will see what we can find.”

I felt a wave of gratitude wash over me. These two were my closest friends, and despite their doubts, they were willing to help me. “Thank you, both of you. I… I really appreciate this.”

They nodded, both of them standing up to leave. As they headed to the door, Pete turned back, giving me a serious look. “We’ll do what we can, but don’t get your hopes up too much, Killian. She has been gone a while, and finding her might not be as easy as you think.”

“I know,” I said quietly. “But I have to try.”

They left, and I sat back on the couch, my mind filled with memories of Mira. Her smile, her laughter, the warmth in her eyes whenever she looked at me. I had thrown it all away for someone who didn’t care about me, and now… now I was paying the price.

As I looked around the empty room, I knew that no matter what it took, I would find

Mira. And when I did, I would make things right. Even if she hated me, even if she never forgave me, I had to tell her the truth. She was my mate, the one person who was truly meant for me, and I couldn’t let her go without a fight.

For the first time, I felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, I could find her. And maybe I could finally begin to make amends for all the mistakes I had made.
