Luna Mira’s Choice novel Chapter 21

_Killian’s POV

The moment I saw Hayden’s message, my heart skipped a beat. My hands trembled as I read his words: “One of my friends spotted Mira at the Blue Moon pack. She was with the Alpha at a restaurant. They seemed close.”

Mira. She was alive. I felt relieved but my mind spun with questions. What was she doing with the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack? That pack was far from us, and its Alpha was a mystery–someone I had never met, known for being reserved and, some said, ruthless. How had Mira even ended up there?

But this wasn’t the time for doubts. I needed to see her, to tell her the truth and apologize. I had to bring her home. Without wasting a second, I messaged Hayden: ”

Come to my place. Bring Pete too.”

Soon, Hayden and Pete arrived. They looked at me with confusion, sensing the urgency.

“Killian, what’s going on?” Pete asked.

“Mira is alive,” I said, barely able to contain my emotions. “She is at the Blue Moon pack.”

Pete stared at me. He seemed to be surprised.

“Are you sure it’s her?” Pete asked. “I mean, it could be someone else.”

I shook my head. “No. Mira doesn’t have a twin. I am sure that it is her. She has been spotted with the Alpha, and I have to get to her. I need to apologize. I need to bring her back.”

Pete frowned, crossing his arms. “But getting into the Blue Moon pack? Their security is no joke. It’s not going to be easy.”

I nodded, feeling the weight of his words. “I know. But I’m not leaving without her. We need a plan.”

Hayden cleared his throat. “And the Alpha there? He is known to be ruthless. People say he doesn’t take kindly to strangers, especially ones with hidden agendas.” “I don’t care,” I said, feeling the desperation rise in my chest. “I have made too many mistakes. I am not losing Mira. Whatever it takes, I am going.”

They exchanged a look, realizing how serious I was.

“I’ll help,” Hayden finally said. “But we have to be smart about this. We can’t just march in and demand to see her.”

Pete let out a heavy sigh but nodded. “Alright. What’s the plan?”

I thought hard, my mind racing. Then I remembered: the Selene festival was coming up in a week. It was a celebration where packs gathered to honor the moon goddess, Selene. It could be our excuse to enter their territory without suspicion.

“We’ll go to the festival as guests,” I said. “I’ll say I am the son of the Alpha of Firemoon pack, here to improve relations. The Alpha won’t question it, especially with the festival.”

Hayden’s eyes brightened. “That could work. He won’t suspect anything if it’s during the festival.”

Pete looked uncertain. “But what about your parents? Why would you go alone?

Wouldn’t that seem suspicious?”

I thought for a moment. “I’ll say my mother is unwell and my father is taking care of her. That is why I am visiting alone. The Alpha won’t think twice about it.”

Pete seemed reluctant but finally shrugged. “I guess it’s worth a shot.”

“We’ll need to be prepared,” I added. “We’ll bring weapons hidden in our clothes, just in case. But we’ll have to wait until the festival. That gives us a week to get ready and plan our approach.”

Hayden nodded. “Good thinking. We’ll use the time to prepare.”

Pete grinned, his eyes showing a glint of excitement. “Alright, Killian. Looks like we have got ourselves a mission.”

A wave of relief washed over me. I was grateful to have friends who would stand by me, even for something this risky. I looked at both of them, my heart pounding with a mix of hope and fear.

“Thank you, both of you. I won’t forget this.”

We spent the next few hours going over our plan in detail. I sent a message to the Blue Moon pack’s Alpha, informing him that I would be visiting for the Selene festival. We discussed every angle, every possible obstacle. We gathered supplies, including gifts we would bring for the Alpha, to make our visit look more official. I made sure to have everything ready so that, when the day came, we would be able to move swiftly.

For the next week, I couldn’t think of anything but Mira. The thought of seeing her again filled me with a sense of urgency I couldn’t shake. There were moments when I felt the weight of my past mistakes pressing down on me, but I pushed them aside. I was determined to make this right.

On the night before the festival, I stood by my window, looking out at the stars, whispering a silent promise to Mira. I was coming for her, and I wouldn’t let anything stop me.
