Luna Mira’s Choice novel Chapter 48

Mira’s POV

The door opened again and Aaron walked in. He carried another tray of food. The scent of roasted meat and warm bread made my stomach twist in hunger. I hadn’t eaten in what felt like days, and the ache in my belly was unbearable.

Aaron placed the tray on the same rickety table as before. “Changed your mind about eating?” he asked, smirking. His voice was mocking, but I was too tired to argue.

I stared at the food. My hands trembled as I reached for the plate. I hated myself for giving in, but I needed strength. If I wanted any chance to escape, I couldn’t afford to be weak.

Aaron watched me with a smug expression as I took a bite. The food was warm and filling, but it felt like ash in my mouth. Still, I forced myself to eat, swallowing each bite with difficulty.

“You’re learning,” Aaron said, leaning against the wall. “Good.”

I glared at him, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. “Why did you say my mother’s sacrifice was in vain?”

Aaron’s smirk faded. He walked over and pulled up a chair, sitting across from me. His eyes gleamed with a mix of anger and something darker. “The witch forgot one important detail,” he said, his voice cold. “The person I sacrifice has to be a virgin. The curse was because of… a rape. The only way to break it is with a pure sacrifice.”

I felt a chill run down my spine. “What does that have to do with me?”

Aaron leaned in closer, his face inches from mine. “You,” he whispered. “You’re perfect. You have Alpha blood. And you’re a virgin.”

My heart pounded in my chest. I wanted to scream, but no sound came out. The ropes around my wrists felt tighter, cutting into my skin. “You’re insane,” I whispered. “You’ll never get away with this.”

Aaron chuckled, leaning back in his chair. “Oh, Mira. You sound just like your mother. She thought the Moon

Goddess would save her too.”

“She will,” I said firmly, even though fear clawed at my insides. “The Moon Goddess won’t let you win. I believe in her.”

Aaron’s smile faded. His eyes darkened, and his voice turned cold. “The Moon Goddess doesn’t care about you. She didn’t save Adaline, and she won’t save you.”

“She does care,” I insisted. “She’ll protect me. You’ll see.”

He shook his head, laughing softly. “You’re so naive. Prepare yourself to die, Mira. You’ll be dying for a good cause. Maybe you’ll even go to heaven.” His voice dripped with sarcasm.

I clenched my jaw, refusing to let him see my fear. “You’re wrong. Your plan won’t work.”

Aaron stood up, towering over me. “We’ll see about that,” he said. “But for now, rest. You’ll need your strength for the full moon.”

I glared at him as he walked to the door. He paused, looking over his shoulder. “Your mother was weak. Powerless. Just like you.”

His words cut deep, but I refused to let him Break me.

Aaron’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t respond. The door slammed shot taking, I slumped in the chair, my mind racing Fear and anger warred within me a who we confident that his twisted plan would work. But I couldn’t fat king win hard to find a way of off the survive
