Chapter 360 Carey Barkley
Third–person POV:
Hearing that, Nathan’s eyes lit up; the Arrowpoint Tech CEO could barely contain himself.
“Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Eaton.”
Everyone knew Arrowpoint’s proposal had been bounced by Mooncrown Corporation’s investment team.
Who would’ve thought a simple cup of hot water could flip the board?
The room got the message in an instant.
So, the shortcut wasn’t crowding Luis–it was winning over the Omega at his side.
Across the floor, a handful of high–ranking wolves shot tight looks at their dates and tilted their chins: Go. Now.
In a blink, Deanna was ringed by she–werewolves–smiles bright, greetings overlapping as they jockeyed to be first.
A few minutes later, the Bluestone Pack Alpha, Carey Barkley, emerged with a cane, steadied by two house staff.
Eighty–five, and still sharp; his face opened into a wide, pleased smile when he spotted Luis.
“You little brat. I thought even my eighty–fifth would fail to drag you here.”
Luis’s mouth tipped. “You called, Grandpa. How would I dare not come?”
Mooncrown and Bluestone had roots reaching back to Luis’s grandfather.
They were two young wolves who bled together in the old training camps. Brothers–in–arms.
“Shame your granddad went too soon… No elegies tonight. Since you took the reins, Mooncrown’s surged–beyond even his day. The student outstrips the master.”
“And Bluestone Bank’s done well under your uncles,” Luis replied, polite as polished steel.
Carey knew courtesy when he heard it.
His sons weren’t exactly impressive.
If not for Blue Rock Bank’s solid foundation back then, once his sons took over, it would’ve been snatched up by another pack.
That’s also why, pushing ninety, he still didn’t dare step down.
Only then did his gaze land on the woman at Luis’s side. “And this is?”
Luis’s arm tightened at Deanna’s waist. “My future Luna–Deanna Wiley of the Mistbane Pack.”
