After a moment of silence, Zachary replied, "Yes, but I trust my eyes and feelings more. That was why I concealed my identity to examine your character."

"Given your character, you wouldn't agree to marry me either if you didn't get a background check on me. Why did you still suspect me of going after you for your money?"

Serenity was speechless.
