If the car accident failed, they would take out Kathryn’s bodyguard first. Without protection and with Pedro away on a business trip, Kathryn—who didn’t know martial arts—would be completely vulnerable. 

The plan was simple: kidnap her, kill her, chop her up, and dump her body into the sea. No one would ever find her. 

With Kathryn dead, the massive inheritance left by her mother would be theirs. 

They still wouldn’t be able to take over the Farrell Group or control the Farrell family, and they couldn’t do anything to Liberty either. But without Kathryn, Liberty—new to her position and lacking experience—would be left scrambling. There was no one to properly guide her, and it was uncertain whether she’d even be able to hold onto power. 

Marco and his brothers had two main objectives: 

First, to kill Kathryn. Their hatred for her ran so deep that only her death could satisfy them. 

Second, to reclaim the massive inheritance their mother had left her. 

Once that money was in their hands, they could return to their hometown and live in luxury. Their mother had accumulated substantial private wealth, and splitting it equally among the three of them would ensure they never had to lift a finger again. 

Shiloh’s second brother hesitated. “But what about that powerful man always by Kathryn’s side? If he’s still around, will this plan even work?” 

They had heard rumors—he was not someone to be messed with. 

Sage responded, “Pedro is on a business trip. He left for another province and won’t be back for at least ten days, maybe two weeks. That’s why we need to act fast. We can’t wait for him to return. We need to handle Kathryn within the next couple of days. That’s why we brought you here—to plan the execution.” 

Shiloh’s eldest brother held up two fingers. 

Marco nodded. “Two million? Fine. Each of you gets one million now, and after the job is done, we’ll give you another two million. That means you each walk away with two million.” For rural men like them, two million was a fortune. 

Even though they had built houses in their village and furnished them well, their current income was unstable. With two million in hand, they could live comfortably back home. 

But then, Shiloh’s eldest brother smirked. 

“It’s 20 million. Ten million each.” 

Marco’s expression darkened. 

They weren’t going to settle for a measly two million. If Marco thought he could buy them off that easily, he was dreaming.
