Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 430

Chapter 430: I Don’t Believe It

Selina figured she’d better save him while she could, so she cut Jack off.

"Right, right—I get it. Calm down. Eat first."

Jack looked like he was about to cry with rage.

"You don’t get it! Everything was planned perfectly, but someone wanted him back early! Said they missed him or whatever! So he squeezed us dry to rush home! Ma’am, tell me—who was it? WHO?!"

"If I ever find out, I’ll teach her a lesson she won’t forget!"

Jaxon’s mouth twitched.

Logan curved his lips slightly and sauntered lazily down the stairs.

Selina cleared her throat twice, shooting Jaxon a desperate look to get Jack out of there.

Jack was oblivious.

"What’s with you two, coughing all of a sudden? You sick or something?"

Jaxon tried to smooth things over, hinting gently: "Jack... didn’t the boss also give you a full week off? And triple bonus pay? At least—"

"Bonus? You think I care about that pathetic bonus?" Jack was fuming. He didn’t get why Mr. Reid kept that Stone guy around. He snorted.

"Boss is so stubborn. You can’t even talk to him about it."

Jack was convinced Stone was the leak. The guy had been with the company eight years, sure—but he could have sold them out. There was no way the bid leaked just like that unless someone did it on purpose.

But...

Before he could finish ranting, a smooth, low voice chimed in beside him: "Not just stubborn, right? Boss is also autocratic, doesn’t listen to anyone?"

Jack was shocked there was someone bold enough to agree with him—and they said it so perfectly! He let out a satisfied grunt.

"Exactly! He even defended that Stone guy in front of everyone. Total case of favoring the treacherous over the loyal—"

Jack turned mid-rant, all worked up.

And met Logan’s eyes.

Jack: "..."

He glanced at Jaxon, then at Selina, and his knees went weak.

"..."

God, I shouldn’t have left the house today. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Logan drawled slowly.

"Favoring the treacherous over the loyal? Didn’t know you had such a way with words."

Jack swallowed hard.

"Boss, sir, you misunderstood. That’s not what I meant. I wasn’t finished talking. I meant that most bosses would be fooled by Stone, and they’d favor the treacherous over the loyal. But not you! You’ve got sharp eyes—you’d see right through Stone’s little games..."

Selina thought privately that one big reason Jack had lasted this long around Logan was his complete lack of shame.

After lunch, Logan drove Selina to the Reid Group building.

When they stopped at a red light, he said evenly: "Miller told me the paternity test results came back?"

Selina hadn’t expected him to bring it up. Her face hardened instantly.

"Yeah. Biological father and daughter."

Logan didn’t look over.

"I don’t believe it."

Selina rested her chin in her hand and let out a cold laugh.

"Neither do I. But the report says there’s a blood relationship. My second brother wouldn’t lie to me."

Aiden was her second brother, and the Foster Family Hospital wouldn’t have covered for Joe.

So the DNA test was real.

Logan suddenly thought about how many times over the years he’d done paternity tests with Amelia.

Every single one said he was her biological son.

But how was that possible?

Everything—logic, emotion, memory—told him he was Anna’s child.

How could a paternity test fool everyone?

"Maybe," Logan said evenly, "you should talk to Kyle."

Selina let out a cold snort.

"Talk to him about what?"

Logan’s voice was calm.

"You and Joe are father and daughter. Kyle is Joe’s son. But what if you and Joe aren’t actually related?"

Selina fell silent.

That was... unsettling.

If she and Kyle were both Joe’s children, then whether they shared the same mother or not, they’d still be blood relatives.

But if she had no blood relation to Kyle while they were both supposedly Joe’s kids... then...

Logan ignored her shock.

"Maybe you should give it a try."

"Who knows what you’ll find."
