(Author’s POV)
"We are just normal, ordinary friends and nothing else," Elio clarified, enunciating each word hard. "Anyways, I already have someone in my mind." He then muttered the last sentence under his breath, inaudible for normal humans, but Dion still heard it.
"Wait~ ... wait~ ..... wait~ ..., what? What did you just say?" Dion gave his brother a look full of bewilderment, his mouth agape. "You already have someone, and you didn’t even tell me? When did that happen? Who is it? I didn’t know you were that secretive, Eli. I thought you were the loner type, or maybe androphobic."
Elio ignored his brother’s teasing and blabbering. He didn’t give Dion any more details about the person and kept his mouth sealed. He didn’t want to tell anyone just yet. The first person he wanted to confess his feelings to was none other than the said person herself, Myra Miracle. And rightfully so.
"Not going to say anything, huh? F~ine, don’t tell. I will find out on my own," Dion said with a sneer. "Be my guest, Bro," Elio answered, and he dropped the topic. His eyes then scanned the room for Wendy, but he couldn’t see her again.
Dion was about to tease him about something more, but his phone, which was resting in his pocket, buzzed. When he glanced at the caller ID, his demeanour changed in an instant; he became serious. Turning to Elio, he said, "I need to take this call. It is important. You go ahead and search for your~ .... ’New friend, whose name you forgot’." Saying this, he walked away from Elio and out of the room.
After checking his surroundings, he picked up the call, his voice low and detached, "Have you arrived in Esteria?"
"Yes, young Alpha, I have arrived," the girl on the other side replied.
"Good, where are you right now?" he asked.
"I am outside the Crown Opulence," the girl gave a brief response.
"Ohh~ ... you are here. I am coming out. Stay right there," he instructed and cut the call. He then mindlinked all his brothers, ’I am going back to my room for a brief period. Ohkiez, folks.’ He made sure that they won’t search for him.
Adjusting his cufflinks, he went out to meet the person. As he went outside and swept his gaze around, he saw a blonde haired girl, wearing a black leather miniskirt and a raven colored corset and a zipped tube top on a red Kawasaki motorcycle. She was leaning on the bike with one hand holding a black helmet, a total girl boss look.
Dion made a weird face and strode towards her. The girl saw him approaching, but didn’t react at all. She kept looking her and there as if Dion were a total stranger to her.
When Dion reached closer to her, he mumbled, his voice harsh, "Follow me." And saying this, he walked in another direction.
The girl, after five seconds or so, followed him, her steps slow yet elegant in her leather boots. With each step she took, every eye turned to look at her. Some thought that her fashion sense was weird, while some liked her bold biker attire. But she didn’t react to any of it and just walked in the same direction that Dion had gone. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
After walking for a while, Dion halted his steps in a place where there was no one else. He sniffed the air around to confirm and felt at ease when there was no lingering trace of any intruder.
He then turned around, gave the girl a once over and questioned, "Anya, what’s up with your look?"
Anya, his secret human aide, answered him in a mechanical tone, "I came as you instructed. This is my disguise, young Alpha Dion."
Dion was at a loss for words. Yes, he had told her to come in disguise, but not like that. She was standing out too much. ’Sometimes, she reminds me that she is just a naïve human being,’ Drey muttered inside his head. Dion sighed, pinched his nose bridge and said, "Forget it, I called you here for something important."
He then forwarded Myra’s picture to Anya’s number, "Investigate this person for me. Search for her whereabouts. She is currently hiding somewhere in Esteria. Find her location within twenty four hours for me," he gave his orders. He made it sound like Myra was some kind of business delegate. He kept his tone detached and unaffectionate.
Anya, as his loyal subordinate, didn’t question him. She just answered, "Yes, young Alpha, I will find her whereabouts. And sent it to you."
"Good. And make sure to do it discreetly. This is the turf of the Vampire King himself. Don’t alert him or his people," he warned her.
