Chapter 320: Intruder In Myra’s Room

(Author’s POV)

"JUMP~ .... JUMP, if you can. Jump, of you dare. Jump and die, you bitch," a gravelly, almost demonic voice echoed inside Myra’s head as it urged her to jump from the edge of the cliff.

Although Myra tried to sound calm and composed, but the tremble in her voice was betraying her, "Do~ you~ .... do you think I am joking? I will really jump from this cliff and die."

Thunderous roars and laughter erupted around her, listening to her threats. This was followed by loud chants of mockery towards her, "JUMP .... JUMP .... JUMP .... JUMP~ .... DIE ... DIE ... DIE .... DIE~."

Myra clenched her fists so tight that her fingernails were digging into her palms, a little blood oozed out of it. Her eyes were bloodshot and red. She was scared to the core, but she didn’t let it show on her face. With a defiant and decisive look, she exhaled a deep breath and stared straight at the darkness that had been chasing her, mocking her.

Even in this moment, she was well aware that this was all a nightmare. After all, she has experienced this countless times. But no matter how many times she has gone through something like this, it was still horrifying and terrorizing for her. It would haunt her.

"You think you can make me kneel down and surrender to you. YOU FUCKING WISH~," Myra mumbled under her breath, and a smile cold as ice traced on her lips. Then, without any warning, instead of jumping off the cliff, Myra ran toward the darkness with full force. With just a stick in her hand, which she had hidden under her sleeve, she charged forward, with a deafening battle cry, "AAAAAAARRGGGHHHHHHHH~ I .... WON’T .... BACK .... DOWN. NEVERRRRRRRRR~"

The jeers and chants only grew seeing her desperate actions, as she rushed forward like a mad person. It seemed like she was possessed. "DIE~ DIE~ DIE~ DIE~," several voices resonated inside Myra’s ears, but she didn’t stop, not even for a second, nor did she hesitate.

But as soon as she made contact with the darkness, a booming, sonorous sound reverberated in the atmosphere. She was thrown back with extreme and brutal force, which initially woke her up with a jolting start.

*Huff .... huff .... pant .... pant ...* Myra gasped for air as she was heaving, her body drenched in cold sweat. Goosebumps settled all over as she looked around, trying to process everything that she had gone through.

"It’s just a nightmare. It is all just a nightmare. Nothing has happened. Nothing will happen," she repeated as she rubbed her chest simultaneously.

Slowly and steadily, Myra’s nerves calmed down as she began to feel parched. Looking to her right side, she reached for the glass of water and took a sip. All of a sudden, she felt as if, other than her, there was someone else in her room. She stopped mid way, her eyes flickered violently, as her breath hitched. But it was only for a short moment. She resumed drinking water again and mumbled, "It’s gone cold. I should go to the kitchen and reheat it." Then, with cautious steps, she slipped into her slippers and went out of her room.

As soon as the room shut, she locked the door from outside and sprinted towards Yelena’s room without a second thought. She didn’t even knock, just stepped inside her room, and went straight for Yelena, who was in a deep sleep.

Myra’s hands were quivering as she reached towards Yelena to call her, "YEL~ .... YEL, wake up."

Yelena mumbled something in her sleeping state and then turned to the other side. Myra called out to her again, as she shook her, "Yelena, please~ ... wake up. Yelena."

Hearing the incoherent voice, Yelena’s brows creased as she opened her eyes narrowly. With a hoarse and scratchy voice, she asked, "My~ra? ..... What are you doing here?"

"Yel, I~ .... I think~ .... there is someone inside my room," she whispered, the tremor was obvious in her tone.

Yelena didn’t quite register what she said. She rubbed her eyes, got up and then looked at Myra’s face. She could tell that the girl was scared out of her wits. Sleep instantly vanished from her eyes as she asked, "What happened? Why do you look so frightened?"

Myra repeated, "I think there is someone in my room."

Yelena scrunched her nose, "Someone is in your room, huhh?" Then realizing Myra’s words, she repeated, "There is someone inside your room. What the fuck~ ...." She saw that Myra’s whole body was shivering, so she held her shoulders and muttered, "Myra, relax. Firstly, take a deep, long breath and then exhale slowly."

Myra did exactly as she was told, then Yelena added, "Now, tell me what you saw?"
