Mated to My Fiancé’s Alpha King Brother (Seraphina and Damien) novel Chapter 236

236 Chapter 236

Damien’s Perspective

Those words reverberated through my mind like a crushing verdict.

*I’m pregnant.*

My thoughts froze instantly. Completely. It was as if my brain refused to accept what I’d just heard.

“What?” The word escaped my throat, choked and wrong. “What exactly did you say?”

Emma’s face twisted with pain. Tears streamed freely down her cheeks. “I’m pregnant, Damien. It’s your baby.”

“No.” I stumbled backward, my back hitting the cold wall. “That can’t be true.”

“It is.” Her voice trembled, fragile and raw. “From that night… at the hotel.”

The room seemed to sway. My vision blurred around the edges, spinning uncontrollably.

“Emma, I don’t remember that night. I told you before—I don’t remember anything after sitting in that conference room.”

“I know.” She hugged herself tightly, as if trying to hold her own shattered pieces together. “But it happened. Whether you recall it or not, it happened.”

My fists clenched tightly, knuckles white. “Tell me everything. Every single detail. Don’t leave anything out.”

She flinched at the harshness in my voice. “Damien—”

“Now, Emma. I want to know now.”

Taking a shaky breath, she began. “Gabriel called the meeting. He said Valerie wanted to talk to you. You went to the conference room, and I followed because… I was worried. Something just felt off.”

“And then?”

“You sat down and started talking to Gabriel. Then…” She hesitated, wiping her eyes. “You got angry. You said things about Sera. About how she left you. How you couldn’t trust her anymore.”

That didn’t sound like me at all. But I stayed silent, letting her continue.

“You took a drink Gabriel offered you. Whiskey. You said you needed it.” Emma’s voice softened, almost a whisper. “That’s when everything changed. Your eyes lost focus. Your words slurred. You kept saying you needed to forget… that you couldn’t bear the pain anymore.”

I shook my head in disbelief. “I don’t remember the drink. I’m sure I didn’t see anyone hand it to me.”

“I don’t know!” Her voice rose, desperation seeping through. “Maybe. But Damien, you… you grabbed me. Pulled me close. Said you needed someone. That you couldn’t be alone.”

My stomach churned violently. “That’s not how it happened.”

“It is!” She stepped closer, urgency in her eyes. “You took me to your car. Drove to the hotel. You were different. Not yourself. But you kept saying you wanted me. That you needed me. That you couldn’t stop thinking about me.”

“I never said those things.” My voice turned cold, sharp as ice. “I’ve never thought those things.”

“Then explain this.” Emma tugged at the collar of her shirt, revealing dark purple bite marks etched across her collarbone, shoulder, and neck.

Exactly where I’d marked Sera countless times before.

“You did this.” Her finger traced one of the bruises. “You marked me. Over and over. You said you wanted everyone to know I was yours.”

“No.” The word tore from me, raw and pained. “That’s not— I would never—”

“And you have marks too.” Her eyes locked onto mine, fierce and challenging. “Look at your back. Your shoulders. I fought back, Damien. I scratched you deeply.”

My hands flew to my shoulders, feeling the raised lines beneath my skin. Scabs. Healing scratches I’d noticed in the shower but never questioned.

Proof.

“This doesn’t prove anything,” I muttered, though my voice lacked conviction.

“It proves everything!” Emma’s sobs grew louder. “You took me to that hotel. You marked me. You were with me all night. And now I’m carrying your child.”

“How do I know it’s mine?” The words slipped out cruel and desperate.

Emma’s face drained of color. “How dare you.”

“How do I know this isn’t some scheme? Some plan you and Gabriel cooked up to ruin my marriage?”

“I loved you!” Her voice broke, raw with emotion. “I’ve loved you for years! But I would never… never do something like this!”

“Then why now?” I stepped toward her, eyes searching hers. She retreated, fear flickering across her face. “Why wait weeks to tell me? Why disappear? Why avoid all my calls?”

“Because I was terrified!” She pressed her back against the wall, trembling. “Because I knew what this meant! Because I knew you’d react exactly like this!”

“Like what?”

“By who? Me?” Her laugh was bitter, filled with disbelief. “You think I wanted this? You think I wanted to be the other woman? To be pregnant with a baby my boss doesn’t even want?”

I released her and stepped back, running my hands through my hair in frustration.

“I don’t know what to think anymore.” The confession came out broken. “But I know I can’t… I can’t let this baby exist. Not like this. Not when it’ll ruin what’s left of my marriage.”

“Your marriage is already destroyed.”

“Not yet.” I looked her in the eyes. “Not if we handle this quietly. If we take care of it and never speak of it again.”

Emma wrapped her arms around herself tightly. “I always knew you didn’t see me. Didn’t care about me. But I never thought… I never thought you’d ask me to do this.”

“My family matters more. My kids matter more. Sera matters more.” I held her gaze steadily. “I’m sorry. But yes.”

She stared at me for a long moment, something shifting in her expression—a hardening resolve.

“And if I say no? If I keep it?”

“Don’t.” The word was a warning, low and deadly serious. “Don’t do that, Emma.”

“Why not? It’s my body. My choice.”

“Because I’ll make your life a nightmare.” The threat was calm, chilling. “I’ll deny paternity. I’ll fight you on every support payment. I’ll make sure everyone knows you tried to trap me.”

Her face went pale. “You wouldn’t.”

“Try me.”

“I could tell Sera. Tell her you’re having a baby with me. End your marriage for good.”

My entire body froze.

Then I acted.

Quickly. Faster than she could react.

My hand closed gently around her throat—not squeezing, just there. A silent promise of what I was capable of.

“Listen very carefully.” My voice was eerily calm. “If you tell Sera about this. If you breathe a single word of this pregnancy to anyone. I will kill you.”
