Mated to My Fiancé’s Alpha King Brother (Seraphina and Damien) novel Chapter 241

241 Chapter 241

Seraphina’s Perspective

Jessica was the first to spot me, her face instantly brightening as she hurried over.

“Sera! Oh my God, have you heard the news?” she exclaimed, eyes shining with excitement.

I stepped closer, setting my coffee carefully on a nearby bench. “Heard what?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

Before anyone could answer, Maya jumped in, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. “About the Alpha! About his baby!”

A cold knot tightened in my stomach.

Still, I forced my expression into careful neutrality, masking the turmoil inside. “What baby?” I asked, my tone calm and measured, as if my whole world wasn’t suddenly tilting off its axis.

“Emma’s baby!” Sophie practically squealed with delight. “She’s pregnant! With Alpha Nightshadow’s baby!”

The edges of the training hall blurred around me.

“What?” The word barely escaped my lips.

“It’s true!” Riley, another trainee, nodded eagerly. “My cousin saw her yesterday at the grocery store in Millbrook.”

“Millbrook?” I blinked, forcing myself to focus, to grasp the weight of what I was hearing. “That’s two hours away from here.”

“I know, right? That’s where she’s been hiding out!” Maya grabbed my arm excitedly. “Sera, you should see her. My cousin said her belly is huge. Like, seven months pregnant huge.”

Seven months.

That timeline hit me like a freight train.

Seven months ago was… right after that night. Right after the hotel.

“Are you sure?” My voice sounded distant, strange even. “Are you absolutely sure it was Emma?”

“Positive.” Riley pulled out her phone and began scrolling. “My cousin sent me a picture. Look.”

She shoved the phone toward me.

There she was.

Emma. Standing in the parking lot of a grocery store, one hand resting on a shopping cart, the other cradling her noticeably swollen belly.

The photo was grainy, taken from a distance, but there was no mistaking that face. That graceful posture.

Or that unmistakably large baby bump.

“See?” Riley zoomed in. “That’s definitely her. And look how big she is!”

I stared at the screen, focusing on Emma’s hand gently resting on her stomach, on the faint smile playing on her lips.

She looked… peaceful. Content. Like someone carrying something precious.

“My cousin even asked her about it,” Riley continued, her voice dropping to a whisper as if sharing a secret. “Asked if the baby was the Alpha’s.”

My throat tightened, closing up completely.

“And?” Jessica leaned closer, eyes wide. “What did she say?”

“She didn’t deny it!” Riley’s eyes were huge with excitement. “She just smiled—this knowing, almost teasing smile—and said, ‘What do you think?’”

“Oh my God.” Sophie covered her mouth in shock. “That’s basically confirmation!”

“Right?” Maya nodded vigorously. “If it wasn’t his baby, she would have said so. But she didn’t. Which means it definitely is.”

The group erupted into excited chatter, voices overlapping in a rush of speculation.

“I knew something was going on between them!”

“Remember how she was always at his house?”

“And the way he looked at her during that birthday party?”

“They’re probably going to announce it soon!”

“Do you think there’ll be a Luna ceremony?”

“There has to be! You can’t have the Alpha’s baby without being Luna!”

I stood frozen, the phone still held before me, Emma’s pregnant belly filling the screen.

“Sera?” Jessica waved her hand in front of my face. “You okay? You look pale.”

“I’m fine,” I lied automatically.

While I pretended I was okay.

While I split custody of our children and tried to piece together some semblance of a life.

“Sera?” Jessica touched my arm gently, concern in her eyes. “Seriously, are you okay? You look like you’re about to throw up.”

“I’m fine.” I handed Riley’s phone back, my hand trembling slightly. “Just… surprised. I didn’t know.”

“No one knew!” Maya exclaimed. “That’s what makes it so exciting! The Alpha kept it totally secret!”

“Very romantic,” Sophie agreed dreamily. “Like he wanted to protect her from gossip.”

I made it to my office, closed the door behind me, and locked it tight.

Then I pressed my back against the wood, breathing hard, trying to steady myself.

Seven months pregnant.

Emma was carrying Damien’s baby—seven months along.

And now the entire pack was celebrating. Thrilled about their new heir. Their new Luna. Their Alpha’s bright future.

While I stood here like a fool.

The abandoned wife.

The pathetic woman who had actually believed his lies.

Proof of his betrayal. Permanent. Unmistakable.

And what next? Would he marry her? Make her Luna?

Move her into the house I once called home?

Would my children have a new mother?

Would Adrian and Lily call her mom?

Would they choose her because she was present, stable, and unbroken?

The thoughts spiraled wildly, faster and faster.

I couldn’t catch my breath.
