Matthew's voice dropped low as he looked directly at Luna.
"I don't know what you went through back then, but do you know how people really talk about Donald out there?"
He'd pieced together what she was hinting at.
Only her father and Donald knew about the secret tunnel.
Yet somehow, those men were already waiting at the exit.
Luna suspected Donald had betrayed her father.
But Matthew didn't believe it for a second.
A bitter smile flickered across Luna's face at his words.
"I get it. The so-called elegant gentleman, the outlier on Blackshore Island.
"Kind, graceful, polite—everyone liked him.
"But what if I told you I saw something completely different?
Her eyes locked onto his, searching for any flicker of emotion.
But all she found was emptiness.
His gaze was like a deep, endless well—impossible to read.
"My father was badly wounded, but he fought like hell and took down those men waiting at the exit.
"He never believed Donald was behind it.
"We ran straight to Donald's territory.
"We were foolish enough to think that once we got there, we'd be safe.
"But those men caught up again.
"My mother stayed back, drawing most of them away so the three of us could get away.
"They were just too fast."
Fear briefly flashed across Luna's face.
"They caught up quickly, and when it seemed all was lost—
"I followed quietly and ended up outside a room.
Tears filled Luna's eyes, and her voice wavered.
"I... I saw him.
"He knelt before Donald, offering the dagger stained with my dad's blood.
"And that hypocrite, Donald... he was trembling with excitement.
"I wanted to run away with my sister, but I knew if I left alone, maybe I'd survive.
"But if I took my sister, we'd both be dead.
"And Donald didn't know I'd seen everything.
"My sister was still safe... at least for now.
"As long as Donald didn't catch me, he wouldn't hurt her.
"That's all I have to say."

The readers' comments on the novel: Medical Genius Unspeakable Marriage (Matthew Larson)
The story started out really good, but after 400+ chapters, I got exhausted because of the in-laws. There’s just too much pointless chatter and greed. The protagonist is supposed to be strong but turns soft whenever the in-laws are involved—even the wife, yikes. Do they always have to give in to every demand and treat? Too weak. I didn’t get angry, just tired… so I stopped reading 😜...
