The sloped tunnel opened into a wide underground space. Dozens of armed Medusa Gang members stood guard, guns aimed at the tunnel's exit, ready to shoot.
Matthew stepped from the shadows. The guards saw him and lowered their weapons. Anyone else would have triggered their alert—Benson was someone they knew and hated.
His smug wave and superior look annoyed everyone. If not for his rank, someone might have shot him already.
"Captain Benson," one of the men stepped forward, trying to stay polite, "where's your team?"
He spoke with respect, but his dislike was clear. In this strict group, no one could openly disrespect a superior.
Matthew, still pretending to be Benson, narrowed his eyes and deliberately glanced at the man's name tag, as if sizing him up.
"Well, well, if it isn't Cyxus," he sneered, lips curled. "Barely a few days and you're already climbing the ranks? Now you have the nerve to interrogate me directly? What's next—insulting the chain of command? Why not seize control and crown yourself boss?"
He raised his hand in a dramatic pose, his sharp voice echoing through the room.
The others nearby stiffened. This wasn't just killing someone. This was killing the heart. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. That move shattered him.
If Cyxus stayed quiet, he looked guilty. If he talked back, Benson could accuse him of disrespect and get him punished or killed.
Cyxus' face turned red. He looked furious, but after a moment, he forced himself to say through gritted teeth, "I wouldn't dare. Please proceed, Captain Benson."
Matthew was surprised for a moment. This was the first person who had approached him willingly. Everyone else either ignored him or kept a safe distance.
That underscored how disliked Benson truly was.
Matthew looked at the man's name tag—Viktor Seizser.
"What is it?" Matthew asked coldly, still acting like Benson.
Viktor bowed and said respectfully, "Mr. Emissary will be holding a meeting soon. All squad leaders are expected to attend. He wants you there as well."

The readers' comments on the novel: Medical Genius Unspeakable Marriage (Matthew Larson)
The story started out really good, but after 400+ chapters, I got exhausted because of the in-laws. There’s just too much pointless chatter and greed. The protagonist is supposed to be strong but turns soft whenever the in-laws are involved—even the wife, yikes. Do they always have to give in to every demand and treat? Too weak. I didn’t get angry, just tired… so I stopped reading 😜...
