Nathaniel stood inside the descending elevator, looking cold, his face full of killing intent.

He looked nothing like he did before.

The all-black suit made his presence even stronger. His messy stubble and wild hair were now clean and neat.

His face was still a bit pale, but he no longer looked like a man who had given up.

The elevator slowly stopped on the second floor.

As soon as Nathaniel stepped out, everyone turned to look at him.

"Everyone, switch to top-level security. Lock down the entire Guard Corps. Not even a bird or a worm gets out."

His cold face and sharp voice made everyone freeze.

Something had clearly happened—Nathaniel was furious.

Someone stood up nervously. "Mr. Quinn, if we're going on highest alert, should we tell Mr. Bud?"

Nathaniel turned to him and gave a sudden smile. "Sure, go ahead and tell him."

Bang!

A dull gunshot echoed through the office.

Nathaniel slowly lowered his smoking gun, causing everyone in the room to freeze.

"What are you all sitting around for? I want everything locked down in three minutes. Not even a bird leaves the building."

His voice snapped them out of it.

"Yes, sir!"

As the others rushed out, Nathaniel headed to his own floor. Right now, he didn't know whom he could trust in the Guard Corps.

He needed to be ready for anything.
