Peter's handsome face was full of resignation, though his eyes betrayed nothing but fond indulgence. "You're right. Sebastian brought this on himself. But stay out of it for now. Just wait until this blows over."

Truthfully, Peter couldn't make sense of Sebastian anymore. The last time they had drinks, Sebastian clearly cared a lot about Roxanne. But the choices he made tonight… made Peter question if the guy had a split personality.

Elvira huffed, furious just thinking about Sebastian's behavior. She wished she could tear him apart just to let out her rage. She flopped onto the bed and turned her head away from Peter, too angry to even look at her brother, who happened to be one of Sebastian's closest friends.

Peter was speechless. "Just because I'm close with Sebastian doesn't mean you get to take it out on me. I'm not him. And it's not like I ever got in the way of you and Roxanne being friends. So, what exactly are you mad at me for?"

She and Roxanne had known each other for years. But in all that time, Roxanne had only been to her house once, and that visit happened when Peter was at home. He had been polite on the surface, but there was distance in the way he had treated her.
