Elvira instinctively stepped back, her chest tightening with unease.
Something about Sebastian's presence was terrifying. His eyes were bloodshot, and there was a sharp, cruel glint behind them. The cool detachment he usually carried had completely morphed into unhinged madness. He was like a predator on the edge of losing control.
There was no doubt that this version of Sebastian wasn't thinking straight anymore.
Elvira backed up again, turned sharply, and bolted toward the stairs. But she didn't get far. She was just a young woman while the bodyguards Sebastian brought were all trained professionals.
Before she could even reach the first landing, two of them had seized her arms and dragged her back like a criminal, forcing her to kneel at Sebastian's feet.
His eyes gleamed with menace, dark and sharp. He said coldly, "Tell me where she is. This is your last chance."
Elvira gritted her teeth and glared up at him, her voice sharp with fury. "I told you, I don't know!"
With a subtle nod from Sebastian, the bodyguards moved.
A second later, Elvira let out a sharp cry.
One of the bodyguards had twisted her arm behind her back with enough force to make sweat bead on her forehead. Her joint hadn't been dislocated, but the pain was unbearable.
At that moment, it hit her—Sebastian had completely lost it.
"Sebastian!" A voice roared from the entrance.
The next second, a fist landed hard on Sebastian's jaw, sending him crashing to the ground.
Peter stood there, the picture of fury. Normally, he wore a charming smile and carried a calm demeanor. But right now, his handsome features were filled with wrath.
The moment Harlan called, saying Sebastian had stormed in with bodyguards, Peter knew something was wrong. He rushed home just in time to hear Elvira's scream, and that sound had nearly driven him mad.
Sebastian had actually dared to hurt her.
After Peter landed that punch, his men quickly moved in, surrounding Sebastian's bodyguards. The two sides faced off in the hallway, tension crackling in the air.
