Yasmin's face turned pale when Roxanne mentioned the dress. If it weren't for the fact that this dress could confuse Mason, she certainly wouldn't want to wear the same one as Roxanne. Even if she was deliberately attempting to copy Roxanne.
Fearing that Mason might notice something off, she quickly changed the topic. "I heard you ran away. Did Sebastian find you, or did you contact him yourself?"
Roxanne raised an eyebrow, her gaze playful as she looked at Angeline. "You should ask Ms. Barnes about that."
Angeline's face tightened. She kept her composure and said, "Ms. Sawyer, I don't understand what you mean."
Sebastian, Mason, and Jensen all looked at them. It was obvious that there was something suspicious going on between these women.
"You don't understand? Well, I don't understand either." Roxanne turned to Sebastian beside her and asked, "Sebastian, do you know Ms. Barnes?"
Sebastian glanced at Angeline. "I don't know her."
Roxanne covered her mouth in mock horror. "Wow, Ms. Barnes, looks like you weren't memorable enough for Sebastian!"
She then looked at Sebastian again. "On the day you found me, Ms. Barnes came to me, claiming she was your archrival and could help me leave. She even gave me a business card."
Mason and Jensen both looked at Angeline in surprise. She was Sebastian's archrival?
To be honest, she didn't qualify.
Being archrivals meant both parties were equally matched enemies who couldn't stand each other. Angeline didn't qualify to be Sebastian's archrival.
Sebastian's expression darkened, turning grim.
"But there are a lot of people from Valoria here. One of them happens to be some rich heir from Valoria. He recognized the ring, so he bought it and used it to curry favor with Sebastian. That's how your location got exposed.
"I have a very capable friend. He can get you to another city quietly. Sebastian will never find you there. Roxanne, I can help you."
"Why would you help me? Who are you?"
"Sebastian and I are sworn enemies. How can I watch him get what he wants? If he wants to find you, I'll make sure he doesn't."
Immediately, an oppressive, deathly silence befell them.
It was indeed Angeline's voice, and she had no way to deny it.
