Liana was frail. Any emotional distress could make her faint. Exposure to cold or rain? That could do it too. She was delicate to the extreme.
From Roxanne's observations, Liana also played up her fragility sometimes. But still, she was indeed weak. And now, she had run straight into the raging storm. She wouldn't last.
Especially looking like that—so pitiful, so fragile. She was the kind of beauty that stirred a person's protective instincts.
Even Roxanne felt a twinge of sympathy. She used to hate Liana and treated her as a rival. But now that she no longer considered Liana a threat, she had to admit that Liana was the type of woman who made people feel like protecting her.
She was so small and thin. As soon as she stepped into the downpour, her figure seemed on the verge of collapse.
Sebastian, however, didn't even lift his head.
But Taylor was already on his feet as he said anxiously, "Sebastian, you know how fragile Liana is. She can't handle this!"
Seeing no reaction, Taylor snapped, "Miles only has one sister! If something happens to her, how are you going to explain it to him?"
Roxanne had been watching Liana the entire time. Suddenly, she gasped. "Ah! She fell!"
The second the words left her mouth, Sebastian moved like the wind. His lean, elegant figure bolted through the rain, and he scooped Liana off the ground before carrying her straight to his car. He was gone in an instant—no hesitation, no unnecessary movements.
He had always chosen Liana.
Taylor's voice was low and firm. "Roxanne, do you see it now? Have you accepted the truth? As long as Liana is here, you'll never be Sebastian's first choice."
Roxanne gave him an amused look. "That's an interesting thing to say—almost like Sebastian actually has feelings for Liana. Do you really not know why he treats her so differently? Do you really think it's about her—or is it about Miles?"
Why did Sebastian treasure Liana so much?
