In the past, Sebastian had chosen Liana because Roxanne never caused trouble over it. But now, it was clear that he was leaning toward Roxanne.

Liana bit her lip, forcing herself to stay calm. She nodded at Taylor. "I understand, Taylor. I just want to be alone for a while… to think."

Taylor got the message and ruffled her hair affectionately. "Get some rest. Don't overthink it."

"Mm."

Taylor pulled open the door and stepped out.

The moment the ward was empty, Liana's expression turned dark. Her clear, delicate eyes were filled with a menacing rage. "Roxanne, you think you can steal Sebastian from me? You don't have the right!"

Just then, her phone buzzed with a text from Jamie.

"Ms. Halesworth, Mr. Hayes and Roxanne will be holding their engagement party in three days."

Liana's pupils contracted sharply. A crushing pressure surged in her chest, and her first instinct was to hurl her phone. But before she could, it started ringing again—loud and insistent. She glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Nathaniel.

Taking a deep breath, she pushed down the fury threatening to explode and answered in a composed voice, "Hello, Nathaniel."

On the other end, Nathaniel sounded frantic. "Ms. Halesworth, you have to help me! Please, I'm begging you!"

"Nathaniel, calm down. Take a deep breath and tell me what's wrong."

Something was definitely off.

Nathaniel blurted everything out. "For the past two years, Mr. Hayes has been having me buy gifts for Roxanne on special occasions. I bought them, but… I never gave them to her…"

Liana's eyes widened in shock. Was Nathaniel insane? Was he saying that he embezzled those gifts? That was insanely bold of him.

And considering the kind of gifts Sebastian gave…
