Liana nodded helplessly, then shook her head. She regretted everything.
Sebastian was getting engaged the day after tomorrow, but he planned to send her away. Of course, she didn't want to go. So, she conspired with Nathaniel to stage a disappearance at the airport. The two of them planned to stir up trouble. It was mainly to target Roxanne.
Nathaniel held a grudge against Roxanne, and Liana had no intention of letting Roxanne get engaged to Sebastian. They made the perfect match—at least in terms of motives.
But after following Nathaniel to the abandoned factory to discuss abducting Roxanna the next day, Nathaniel turned on her first. He tied her up, tore her clothes, and slapped her across the face.
She still hadn't recovered from the shock of that sudden turn. Then, he sealed her mouth with duct tape and took a photo of her.
But instead of sending it to Taylor or even Sebastian, he sent it to Roxanne!
Roxanne couldn't wait for her to die! What was the point of sending it to Roxanne?
Nathaniel saw the fury and fear in her eyes and smiled as he explained, "Why am I doing this? I want to torment her, of course. First, I sent your photo to her just to plant the seed. Tomorrow, I'll make Sebastian trade her for you. What do you think she'll think of Sebastian then?"
The past couple of days had been hell for Nathaniel—physically and mentally. On one side, Sebastian had been relentlessly pursuing him. On the other, his creditors had been closing in. Both sides wanted his head.
It could have all gone perfectly. The gifts Sebastian had given Roxanne were more than enough to fuel his gambling. He had been on a winning streak as Sebastian's right-hand man, admired and flattered by everyone. He felt invincible.
But now, he was nothing but a drowned rat. He had lost everything.
Those creditors who used to be lenient were suddenly pressing hard. He knew better than anyone that it was Sebastian's doing. He was backing them, forcing Nathaniel into a corner.
If that was how it was going to be, then no one would have peace.
Liana sobbed, shaking her head.
Nathaniel ripped the tape from her mouth.
Liana said softly and pitifully, "Nathaniel, I'll cooperate with you. I want Roxanne gone too. You know I was the one who supported you. I trust you completely."
Liana wasn't stupid. She could see the madness in Nathaniel's eyes.
