But the darkness ahead made it impossible to see where Roxanne had gone.

"Bitch!" The man ripped off his mask and called Nathaniel. "She got away!"

On the other end of the line, Nathaniel erupted in rage. "How the hell did you let her escape? Go after her! She's injured, so she won't get far."

The man replied, "She won't get far, but she ran into the forest. It's pitch-black right now. How are we supposed to find her?"

Nathaniel, furious, barked, "Send me your location! We'll split up and search for her. I'll pay extra to whoever finds her!"

After receiving the location, Nathaniel and his team—including the two men on motorcycles—rushed over. Now, there were four of them.

Staring into the pitch-black forest, Nathaniel commanded, "Taylor hit her leg, so she won't get far. Spread out and search! I'll pay each of you an extra hundred thousand dollars. Whoever finds her first gets another hundred thousand dollars!"

Nathaniel wasn't bluffing. He immediately took out his phone and transferred 50 thousand dollars to each of them. "This is your advance payment."

The other three, eyes gleaming at the sight of money, sprang into action without hesitation. They dived into the forest to track Roxanne.

Barely moments after they disappeared in the forest, Sebastian and his men arrived.

Standing alongside 28 highly trained mercenaries, Sebastian listened as their leader reported, "The drone tracked her to this location. Ms. Sawyer ran into the forest, and four men went in after her."

Sebastian's expression darkened. "Go in and find her."

"Yes, Mr. Hayes."

The mercenaries activated their night vision goggles and swiftly entered the dense forest. The thick canopy made drone surveillance useless. Their eyes and instincts were their only tools now.

Sebastian went in with them. With their training and experience, the mercenaries easily tracked footprints and disturbances in the underbrush, quickly closing in on their targets. Besides, the night vision goggles helped their search tremendously.
