Hattie chuckled, "Josie, don't be so hard on yourself. Mom knows you're super busy, but no matter how hectic things get, you've gotta take care of yourself."
Josefina smiled and nodded, exchanging a few more words with her mom as they made their way to their favorite diner. Hattie had insisted on treating Josefina to some good old comfort food, letting her pick anything she fancied from the menu.
Before long, Garrett, Reid, Dorian, Grandpa Robert, and Emily all showed up. Seeing them all together made Josefina's eyes misty with happiness.
Garrett grinned, "Josie, we know you're swamped. So we thought lunchtime would be perfect to catch up and share a meal."
Grandpa Robert chimed in, "Josie, take care of yourself. Let your dad and brother handle the business stuff. Don't wear yourself out."
Emily added, "Grandpa's right, Josie. Your health is what matters most."
Having had her share of tough times, Emily knew the value of life all too well.
Dorian handed Garrett a glass of juice, "Little sis must be starving. Let's dig in and chat later."
The family dove into their meal, the room filled with warmth and laughter. Reid pulled out his phone, snapped a photo, and sent it to Calix.
"Carter, the whole fam's here for lunch. It's not quite the same without you."
Little did Reid know, Dorian had also snapped a sneaky pic and sent it to Calix.
"Carter, we're all having lunch with sis today."
In the photo, Josefina's smile was as bright as sunshine as she served their grandma.
Calix, taking a breather from filming, checked his phone, and his mood shifted from cheerful to cold in an instant.
"Gavin, do I have any more scenes today?"
Gavin replied honestly, "Bro, today’s a big one for you, lots of scenes."
Calix sighed, "I'm thinking of quitting showbiz."
Leaning back in his chair, Calix felt drained. Scott, his agent, walked in, his smile fading. He set down a coconut he’d brought, knelt in front of Calix, and pleaded earnestly, "Man, how can you even think about leaving the entertainment world? Your looks, your build, your acting, your voice—it's all perfect. If you leave, I’ll be the first to cry."
