Moon Judgement Forever Loyalty novel Chapter 6

**Chapter 6**

A haunting vision materialized before me—the Black Pine Forest, shrouded beneath the ominous glow of a blood moon, casting an eerie red hue over everything it touched.

I found myself standing at the edge of an ice lake, the surface glimmering like shattered glass in the moonlight. Clutched tightly in my hand was a piece of animal skin, steeped in potent herbs, the scent mingling with the cold, crisp air. My voice quivered, betraying my nerves as I called out, “Sophia? Is that you?”

Suddenly, a fierce wind howled, swirling snowflakes into a blinding mist that enveloped the area, making it difficult to see.

Out of the swirling white, a dark shadow darted across the lake, swift and silent.

Panic surged through me, and I cried out in alarm, my feet slipping on the icy ground. I tumbled into the snow, the cold biting into my skin.

The figure that had startled me wore a cloak of black wolf skin, adorned with silver trim that glinted ominously in the moonlight. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a distinct tear running down the back—a detail that sent chills racing down my spine.

In the blink of an eye, the shadowy figure vanished into the depths of darkness, leaving me breathless.

Damien, his eyes wide and pupils dilated in disbelief, stared at the screen before us, his expression a mixture of fear and frustration.

“The face!” he hissed, his voice low and urgent. “Why can’t we see the face?!”

The soul mage, visibly shaken, took a step back, fear etched across his features. “B-because she never saw the killer’s face,” he stammered, his voice trembling.

“The wind and snow were too fierce. The distance was too great. Even the wolf’s night vision failed… This is what she truly saw,” he added, his words hanging in the air like a heavy fog.

Damien’s body trembled with rage, his breath hitching in his throat.

“Impossible!” he roared, his voice echoing with fury. “Sophia’s suicide note was unambiguous! She knew who it was!”

He spun around to face me, his gaze sharp and accusatory, like a knife poised to cut. Yet, as his eyes met my pale face, a flicker of doubt crossed his features, only to be swiftly extinguished by a wave of cruelty.

“You must be hiding memories!” he growled, his voice low and dangerous. “You’re blocking the Soul Vision Device!”

With a sudden burst of aggression, he shoved the soul mage aside, lunging towards the control panel. His fingers slammed down on the deep extraction button with a force that reverberated through the room.

“Today, I will drag out the killer!” he declared, determination etched into every line of his face.

The Soul Vision Device whirred to life, its power surging as metal needles penetrated the core of my soul.

Pain erupted within me like thunder, a cacophony of agony. My vision blurred, darkened, and I felt myself teetering on the edge of unconsciousness.

Just as my mind threatened to fracture—

The scene shifted abruptly.

No longer was I in the Black Pine Forest.

Instead, I found myself amidst the “Memorial Ceremony” of Grell village.

In the heart of the snow-covered ground, a bonfire flickered, its flames dancing wildly against the night sky.

Young Damien knelt before the fire, clad in black mourning attire, his expression stoic and devoid of emotion.

My foster mother, the former Luna, slowly lifted a black wolf-skin cloak, revealing a clear tear on its back—an unmistakable mark of tragedy.

The silver trim shimmered coldly in the flickering firelight, casting shadows across Damien’s face.

He froze, his pupils dilating as recognition washed over him.

“What is this…” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “This is… Father’s funeral…”

Confusion rippled through the crowd. “What’s happening? Why is the former Alpha’s soul return ceremony suddenly appearing?”

“What is Lina trying to express?”

The werewolves surrounding us exchanged hushed whispers, their voices scraping against my eardrums like shards of glass. Reporters lowered their voices, scribbling notes with urgency. “I remember, the former Alpha fell into the silver mine and died the day after Sophia’s suicide… What does this memory have to do with Lina?”

An elderly gray wolf sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. “What else could it be? Lina despises that Damien broke her head and drove her out of the wolf den back then. Now she’s deliberately unveiling this memory—she simply wants to make the Alpha suffer!”

“How vicious!” another voice echoed, filled with venom. “She’s settling old scores, attempting to destroy the Alpha’s dignity!”

“What does she think she is?” a third wolf growled, baring his teeth. “A lone wolf without bloodline. Her foster father was a thief who poached on clan territory. Her foster mother went mad and burned herself. Her entire family is dead—she’s a disaster star who brings death to her relatives!”

Damien’s face paled, his wolf-like eyes glinting crimson, as if stained with blood.

In a sudden outburst, he lunged at me, gripping my collar with a ferocity that left me breathless. “What are you trying to do?!” he roared, his voice a tempest of rage.

“You think showing me my father’s funeral will break me? That you can exact revenge for what I did to you back then?”

“You’re mistaken! It’s impossible!”

He pointed at the flickering image in the firelight, his voice a low hiss. “My father was the greatest Alpha of Grell! He ruled over seven mountain territories! He was revered by millions of clan members!”

“What are you?” His spit splattered against my face, his anger palpable. “Your rogue wolf foster father was a thief. Your foster mother was a madwoman. And you—”
