**The Day He Forgot He Hated Me by Evangeline Marrow**
**CHAPTER 153**
White.
A blinding, overwhelming white enveloped me, so intense that even with my eyes tightly shut, I could feel the sting of it. My body felt foreign, as if I were suspended in a void, unanchored to the ground. The air around me was not the familiar breath of life; instead, it was thick and pulsing, like a living mist that wrapped around my skin, swirling in patterns that eluded my comprehension.
“Trinity.”
The voice resonated, rich and textured, echoing from every direction, as if the very essence of the space around me was speaking.
With a surge of determination, I opened my eyes.
Before me stood three towering figures. The Guardians. They loomed like majestic wolves, their forms shimmering with an ethereal blend of silver and gold light, casting an otherworldly glow. Their eyes, impossibly bright, seemed to pierce through the very fabric of my being, and their presence weighed heavily upon me, a powerful force demanding my attention.
“You’ve finally arrived,” one of them proclaimed, his voice rolling like distant thunder, yet his expression remained serene, almost welcoming.
I struggled to find my voice. “Where… where am I?” My words felt foreign, as if the very act of speaking was a challenge.
“The Eclipse,” another Guardian replied, his tone gentle yet firm. “It is the threshold that lies between your world and the realm that has been shaped by your ancestors for generations.”
Blood.
I glanced around, trying to make sense of my surroundings. There was no solid ground beneath me—only a soft, pale glow that stretched infinitely to the horizon, shifting and flowing like a living entity beneath our feet. My mark throbbed with intensity, resonating harmoniously with the space that enveloped us.
“They brought you here,” the third Guardian said, his gaze filled with an emotion I could only interpret as sorrow. “Your father’s blood, the power of the Eclipse… it has called you. Only you possess the ability to open this path.”
I swallowed hard, my throat parched. “Why me? Why now?”
One of the Guardians stepped closer, the silver light of his form reflecting in my eyes, intensifying the weight of his words. “Because you are the last true heir to your bloodline. All the power, all the legacy… it flows through you. Your father, your mother, even the family you never knew… they forged this path for you. The world has awaited your arrival.”
The enormity of it all crashed over me like a tidal wave. I felt the weight of memories I had never lived, lessons I had never learned, battles I had never fought. Yet, paradoxically, it all felt intrinsic to me, as if it had been nestled within my soul, patiently waiting for the moment to awaken.
“Your bloodline,” another Guardian began, his voice steady, “was fractured, stolen, hidden away. This is why the shadows emerged. This is why the Eclipse poses such a grave threat. They hunger for what was taken. They were aware of your existence, but only you can restore what is rightfully yours.”
I shook my head, confusion swirling within me. “I don’t understand. My father… Eryx… Lupa… the pack… the shadows… it’s all too much.”
The Guardian extended a hand towards me, a gesture of reassurance. “Then listen, child. Listen closely and seek to understand. The bloodline traces back to your ancestors within the first Eclipse pack. They bore a power intricately linked to the moon, intertwined with the cycles of light and shadow. Each heir inherited a fragment, a piece of that power, until it reached your father, Eryx. However, when your father departed from the original Eclipse pack, a portion of that power was lost to another lineage… your adoptive mother’s family.”
A chill crept through me as I stiffened. “My adoptive mother… she… she kidnapped me. She deceived Lupa into believing I was dead.”
The Guardian nodded slowly, his expression grave. “Indeed. She feared the consequences of your power awakening too soon. Her intentions were to protect you. Yet, by concealing you, the stolen fragments were left vulnerable, and the shadows took notice. This is why you became a target, why Rafe pursued you, why the Eclipse has called for you now. The power has also consumed her and her family.”
A cold wave of realization washed over me. “So… all this time… my bloodline… my power… it’s all… mine?”
“Yes,” the Guardian affirmed. “All of it. But it requires balance. You cannot bear this burden alone. This is why your connections with Asher, Gage, Arlo… even Kaelen… are vital. They anchor you, stabilize you, and complete the power. Alone, it could overwhelm you.”
I closed my eyes, allowing the truth to sink in. I could feel it—the pull, the hum, the ancient rhythm of my bloodline stirring to life. My power was not merely energy; it was a tapestry of memories, a chronicle of history, a weight of expectation. It surged through me like rivers converging, intertwining and merging, filling me with both ache and growth.
“You are the last true heir,” the Guardian continued, his voice steady and grave. “If the Eclipse fails to find balance through you, all that remains will succumb to shadow. Your bloodline, the power your family carried… it will fade into oblivion. And with it, the world you know will cease to exist.”
I trembled, the enormity of my responsibility settling upon my shoulders. “Then… I must fight. I must stop this. Even if I fail…”
“You will not fail,” the Guardian asserted, his tone resolute. “Because you are not alone. However, you must first understand who you are before you can take action. That is why we brought you here.”
In that moment, I sensed another presence, familiar and warm, a steady anchor in the tempest of my thoughts.
It was Eryx. He emerged from the pale glow of the Eclipse, his eyes sharp yet softened by a warmth I had never witnessed before. He reached out, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “Trinity… your bloodline… your power… it was always meant to be shared. This is why they called you, why you stand here now.”
“Father… I…” My voice faltered, overwhelmed by the weight of everything.
