**TITLE: Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 102**

“Imagining an Alpha Male CEO falling head over heels for you, a woman living on a pension.”

Georgina found herself standing before Samuel, feeling utterly ridiculous, as if she were a jester in a court that didn’t belong to her.

Her nails pressed painfully into her palms, a subconscious attempt to ground herself as she forced the words out. “Samuel, you have to understand, things are different with Jay and me. We share something real, something deep.”

Despite her best efforts to present herself with confidence, dressed impeccably and maintaining an air of composure, she couldn’t shake the feeling of inadequacy that washed over her whenever she was in the company of Jayceon’s friends.

This sense of inferiority gnawed at her insides, a constant reminder of her perceived shortcomings.

Samuel, with a tone that was meant to be friendly yet felt more like a dagger, offered his unsolicited advice. “Georgina, let me be straightforward, and please don’t take this the wrong way. When Jay was kidnapped, you were hurt while trying to save him. There were countless women vying for his attention, and the only reason he even considered dating you was that he saw you through a filter.”

A flicker of uncertainty crossed Georgina’s face, her eyes momentarily betraying her confidence.

She attempted to muster a smile, a twitch of her lips, but the words that needed to follow remained lodged in her throat, refusing to come out.

Noticing her silence, Samuel pressed on, his voice steady and unyielding. “Jay did think about marrying you, and he fought for that possibility. But let’s be honest here—has he ever shared a bed with you?”

Georgina averted her gaze, her cheeks flushing with a mix of shame and anger. “Samuel, even if you are Jay’s best friend, that’s crossing a line!”

It was all too fresh in her mind—the moments when she had pursued Jayceon with fervor, the times he had agreed to date her, even going so far as to prepare a ring for a proposal. But each time she had taken the initiative, he had deftly sidestepped her advances, leaving her yearning and untouched.

Samuel continued, undeterred. “We’re all adults here. You’re the first girlfriend Jay has ever officially acknowledged. If he truly cared for you, how could he possibly have held back?”

Georgina felt her heart race, a wave of panic crashing over her as she processed his words.

“What happens between Jay and me is none of your concern,” she snapped, her voice trembling with defiance.

Samuel, unrelenting, didn’t give her a moment to collect her thoughts. “Georgina, think about it. If Jay really loved you, why wouldn’t he divorce Arabella and make things official with you?”

His words hung in the air, heavy and suffocating.

“Because in Jay’s eyes, you and Arabella are worlds apart. You can’t compare yourself to her.”

Georgina’s heart sank at his dismissive tone, her mind racing to defend herself. “My family may be ordinary, but Arabella’s family has faced bankruptcy too. It was Jay who cleared their massive debts. She’s been married to him for three years, and all she does is live off him as a housewife. How can I not be as good as her?”

Samuel casually picked at his ear with his pinky, a gesture that felt condescending. “The Palmer family may have fallen from grace, but Arabella has been educated in the best institutions her whole life. She possesses a broader perspective and a wealth of interests. You can’t even begin to fathom the high-quality resources and connections she has.”
