**Title: Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 167**

Jayceon’s gaze lingered on Arabella, a whirlwind of emotions swirling in his eyes as he finally released her hand, stepping resolutely beside Georgina. The tension in the air was palpable, thick enough to cut with a knife.

“Grandfather,” he declared, his voice steady yet laced with an undercurrent of defiance, “if there’s an issue, direct it at me.”

Sir Melendez, the patriarch of the family, had yet to utter a single word, yet Jayceon’s stance was unmistakable. He was ready to face the storm head-on.

Conrad, his father, erupted with fury, jabbing a finger towards his son’s face, “You would tarnish your own reputation for a woman? You ungrateful bastard!”

Jayceon’s expression remained as stoic as a statue, unaffected by the venomous words. “Dad,” he replied, his voice unwavering, “if you’re upset, then take it out on me. But Georgina is blameless in this.”

Standing beside Jayceon, Georgina felt the weight of uncertainty pressing down on her. This was a pivotal moment; she needed to seize it and convince the old guard of the Melendez family to accept her relationship with Jayceon, no matter how unconventional it appeared.

Gathering her courage, Georgina stepped forward, her heart pounding in her chest. “Sir,” she implored, her voice trembling slightly, “even if you intend to punish me, please allow me the opportunity to explain myself.”

Before anyone could interject, she rushed ahead, “I’m a friend of Ms. Walton’s. Tonight, Ms. Walton graciously invited me to the Hongyu annual party for a bit of fun. I had no idea that Jay and his wife would also be in attendance.”

Kimberly, unable to contain her outrage any longer, exploded, “You shameless woman! Sneaking into my brother’s room while donning my sister-in-law’s clothes, and you still have the audacity to make excuses?”

Georgina felt her cheeks flush crimson at Kimberly’s harsh words, but she held her tongue, unwilling to retaliate. “I’m not making excuses!” she insisted, her voice rising in desperation. “My clothes got stained, and Jay brought me to the lounge to spare me any embarrassment. He simply allowed me to wear his wife’s clothes.”

Before she could finish her explanation, Tabitha approached Jayceon with a fierce intensity. “Do you even remember that you have a wife?” she challenged, her voice sharp.

Jayceon’s gaze flickered toward Arabella, filled with a complexity that spoke volumes. “Of course, I remember,” he replied firmly, though the conviction in his voice wavered.

Arabella lowered her gaze, a sardonic smile creeping onto her lips. How could he say such a thing with everything that was happening? The irony was almost too much to bear.

In a swift motion, Tabitha raised her hand and struck Jayceon hard across the face, the sound of the slap echoing like thunder in the tense atmosphere. Georgina gasped, her heart racing as she instinctively stepped forward, only to be halted by the fierce glare of Tabitha.

“You know you’re married,” Tabitha spat, her eyes blazing with fury. “Yet you still bring another woman into a room to wear your wife’s clothing. What does Arabella mean to you?”
