**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
By J.S. Caldwell
**Chapter 185**
Arabella and Victoria exchanged knowing glances, a silent understanding passing between them. They set aside their tasks, the air thick with anticipation, and made their way to the living room, where the atmosphere buzzed with unspoken excitement.
Jayceon stood there, his gaze piercing as he locked eyes with Arabella. The intensity of his stare seemed to demand answers. “What on earth are you planning to do by buying the eighteenth floor upstairs?” he inquired, his tone a mix of curiosity and concern.
Arabella felt a rush of emotions as she lowered her gaze, a flicker of guilt crossing her mind. She had used Jayceon’s supplementary card to make the purchase; the notification had surely reached him three days prior, and yet he had chosen to remain silent until now.
The thought that he had held his tongue for so long made her heart race. With a playful smile, she replied, “It’s a surprise I’ve prepared just for you. You’ll find out soon enough.”
As she turned to head towards the kitchen, Jayceon stepped forward, blocking her path with a serious expression etched across his face. The tension in the room thickened as they regarded each other in silence. Arabella let out a soft sigh, feeling the weight of the moment.
With a gentle nudge, she urged him towards the bedroom. “No matter what, you’re still my husband. I have friends coming over, so please, dress up nicely. Just do it for me.” Her voice was laced with a mix of persuasion and affection.
Jayceon paused at the threshold of the bedroom, his gaze searching Arabella’s face as if trying to decipher her true intentions. “Do you really mean that?” he asked, uncertainty creeping into his voice.
Arabella nodded firmly, her expression unwavering.
After a moment of hesitation, Jayceon stepped into the room to change, leaving Arabella to prepare for the evening.
By six in the evening, the kitchen was a flurry of activity. The ingredients lay neatly arranged, ready for the festivities. Arabella slipped away to her room, took a refreshing shower, and changed into an outfit that made her feel vibrant and alive. As she emerged, Victoria approached her with a thoughtful expression.
“Mrs. Melendez,” she began, “if we’re expecting a lot of guests, we should use the round dining table with a lazy Susan.”
Arabella nodded in agreement, her mind racing with the details of the evening. “Yes, Victoria, and don’t forget to bring out a couple of bottles of juice for the kids.”
Victoria turned on her heel, returning to her tasks with a sense of purpose.
With a determined stride, Arabella made her way to the study door. Jayceon had been holed up in there for most of the day, and she found herself curious about what occupied his thoughts. After a brief moment of hesitation, she knocked gently on the door.
Jayceon emerged, his expression a mix of curiosity and concern. “Are the guests here?” he asked, his brow slightly furrowed.
