**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**

**Chapter 220**

With a heavy heart, Arabella secured the bedroom door behind her, the click of the lock echoing in the silence of the night. Exhausted, she climbed into bed, curling up beneath the covers as if they could shield her from the weight of the world. She buried her head deep, hoping to escape the turmoil swirling in her mind.

Meanwhile, on the balcony, Jayceon found himself alone, the cool night air mixing with the smoke from his cigarette. He took a long drag, letting the familiar taste wash over him, but it did little to ease the knot of anxiety tightening in his chest.

That evening, Steve had rushed over, urgency painted across his features. He handed his iPhone to Jayceon, his voice steady but laced with concern. “Mr. Melendez, I have some updates. The nearest security camera is quite distant from the incident. The footage is clear, but the external microphone only picks up sound within a five-meter range. Unfortunately, Ms. Carrillo and your wife were speaking too softly for us to capture their conversation.”

Steve paused, his brow furrowing as he continued, “We investigated the woman who clashed with Ms. Carrillo. It turns out she’s not affiliated with the hospital. She’s simply a family member of a patient in the inpatient ward, and she has no connection to your wife.”

After Steve departed, Jayceon remained on the balcony, the night stretching endlessly before him. He inhaled deeply, trying to process the revelation. The woman who had collided with Georgina wasn’t Arabella’s colleague at all. He had misjudged the situation entirely.

Yet, in the depths of his mind, a troubling thought lingered. Arabella hadn’t uttered a single word to defend herself, leaving him in a storm of confusion and guilt. The haunting image of her wronged, tear-streaked face replayed in his thoughts, each iteration tightening the grip of panic around his heart.

As the night wore on, he found himself pacing restlessly outside the bedroom door, his mind racing. He wanted to knock, to reach out to her, but the fear of her rejection held him back.

The following morning, Arabella awoke at her usual time, moving through her routine with a mechanical precision. She washed her face, the cool water refreshing yet insufficient to wash away the remnants of the previous night’s turmoil. Dressed and ready for the day, she opened her door, startled to find Jayceon standing there, his presence both unexpected and unsettling.

Her heart raced, and she instinctively patted her chest, exclaiming, “You’re just standing there at my door, all silent and brooding. Are you having some kind of episode this early in the morning?”

Jayceon’s gaze was intense, unyielding. He took a step closer, closing the distance between them, and suddenly, he pulled her into his arms. The embrace was unexpected and left Arabella feeling vulnerable. She instinctively pushed against him, trying to break free.

In a muffled tone, Jayceon whispered, “I accused you wrongly last night. Why didn’t you say anything to defend yourself?”

Arabella summoned all her strength and finally broke free from his grasp. “If you hadn’t believed Georgina right away, how could you have questioned me so quickly?” she shot back, her voice steady but laced with hurt.
