**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 250**

“Look what I brought you,” Jayceon said, his voice laced with a hint of hope. “I got your favorite Savory Crab & Pork Buns.”

He extended the breakfast offering towards Arabella, his eyes shining with a mix of anticipation and concern.

Arabella, however, merely flicked a glance at him, took the package, and with a swift motion, tossed it into the trash without a second thought.

Jayceon’s expression darkened, a storm brewing behind his eyes, but he restrained himself, choosing silence over confrontation.

“Is there anything else you want?” Arabella asked, her tone flat and unyielding.

He raised his wrist to check the time, a habit he had developed under stress. “Arabella,” he began, his voice steady but strained, “you have to believe me. I went to see her only to sort some things out. I didn’t even hug her first.”

Arabella’s face was a mask of cold indifference as she shook her head, unwilling to entertain his words any longer.

“Jayceon, you two already have a son. What’s the point of explaining this to me now?”

Their gazes locked in a tense standoff, the air thick with unspoken accusations and hurt.

A wave of powerlessness washed over Jayceon, leaving him feeling as if all the vigor and passion that once fueled him had been siphoned away in an instant.

“The child was from six years ago,” he insisted, desperation creeping into his voice. “We weren’t even married then. When I married you, I had no idea he existed. Are you really going to throw away our marriage over something that happened so long ago?”

In his heart, he hoped to calm Arabella’s raging storm and shield her from the truth of the child’s lineage. This was the only explanation he could muster, a flimsy lifeline in a sea of turmoil.

But Arabella stood her ground, unyielding. “That child came before our marriage. Even if you didn’t know about him when we tied the knot, what difference does it make?”

She pressed on, her voice growing sharper. “Since Georgina returned with that child, have you two ever truly stopped?”

Each word was a dagger, aimed straight at Jayceon’s heart. “Jayceon, we’ve known each other for over twenty years. What have I ever done to you that warrants this kind of torture?”

Jayceon shook his head fervently, a forced smile struggling to break through his despair. “I haven’t. I never intended to hurt you.”

His only desire was to salvage their marriage, to find a way back to the love they once shared.

Arabella held his gaze, her expression shifting to one of seriousness. “The only reason I’m still tolerating this mess is that you promised you wouldn’t interfere with my work. If I can’t even focus on my career anymore, then I’ll have nothing left to keep me here,” she declared, pushing Jayceon aside as she turned to leave.

Once she helped Julian, she would leverage that favor to ensure her family’s protection.

As long as her family was no longer her vulnerability, she wouldn’t hesitate to fight Jayceon tooth and nail, even if it meant losing everything.

The clock struck nine in the morning, and inside the conference room at the Melendez Building, tension hung in the air.
