Chapter 252
After Cletus said that, the old man dropped the matter.
After dinner, Cletus pulled Jayceon out to the garden.
Cletus said, “Jay, your parents told me everything about you and
Arabella.”
Cletus hesitated for a moment, then said, “Don’t be mad at your
aunt for meddling, but I hope you and Arabella get a divorce.”
Jayceon looked at Cletus in disbelief.
He said, “Aunt, you’ve always liked Arabella. Why are you also
telling us to separate?”
Cletus sighed. “It’s because I like Arabella that I’m telling you to
get a divorce.”
Cletus said, “You have a child with that woman, Georgina. You’ll
be tied to her for life. Arabella loves you so much, but she’s stuck
in this broken marriage. How much pain and humiliation can she endure before she forces herself to stay with you?”
A dull ache spread through Jayceon’s chest.
He said, “Don’t worry, Aunt. I won’t let her be wronged again.”
Cletus asked Jayceon, “That’s easy for you to say. How are you
going to do that?”
Cletus asked him, “Can you turn back time and stop that child
from being born? Or can you stop that mother and child from
coming back to the country?”
Cletus asked Jayceon, “Or can you erase all the pain and
suffering you and that woman have caused Arabella for so
long?”
Jayceon stood there, feeling completely suffocated.
Cletus patted Jayceon’s shoulder and said, “You’re the one who
betrayed the marriage, who betrayed Arabella. What right do
you have to refuse a divorce?”
Cletus said, “The one mistake Arabella made in her life was
loving you and marrying you. If you feel any guilt towards her
at all, then give her back her freedom.”
After Cletus left, Jayceon stayed alone in the garden for a long
time.
He felt guilty towards her, but he absolutely could not get a
divorce.
His parents had gone through something similar and had
overcome the hardship, staying together through it all.
Besides, he hadn’t cheated on Arabella. That child wasn’t his.
Once he and Arabella had a child of their own, she would surely
give up the idea of divorce and live a good life with him.
The next morning, Cletus went to the hospital to see Arabella.
When Arabella saw Cletus, she happily hugged her, “Auntie, I’m
sorry I didn’t come see you yesterday.“”
Cletus’s heart ached for her, patting Arabella’s shoulder
comfortingly, “Auntie knows all about what happened between
Cletus said, “I brought gifts for you, your parents, and your
