**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
By J.S. Caldwell
Chapter 258

Jayceon had made a silent vow to himself: he would treat Arabella like royalty, showering her with affection and kindness, striving to rekindle the happiness they had once shared in the early days of their marriage. He envisioned doing everything he could to make her smile, to bring back the warmth that had once defined their relationship.

However, for the next three days, Jayceon was a mere shadow of himself. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and he found it impossible to concentrate on anything.

In the sleek, modern CEO’s office, Steve, his loyal assistant, couldn’t help but notice the distraction that clouded his boss’s usually sharp demeanor. With a cautious tone, he interjected, “Mr. Melendez, just a reminder—your wife’s flight back to Zelmere is scheduled to arrive at eight this evening.”

The clock ticked closer to 8 PM, and the anticipation hung thick in the air at Zelmere International Airport.

As Jayceon waited, he spotted two of Arabella’s colleagues emerging from the terminal. His heart raced as he approached them, desperate for news.

One of the women spoke up, her voice bright yet casual, “Oh, Arabella mentioned she’s extending her stay in Port City for an extra day—she’s out shopping for gifts for her family!”

A surge of hope mixed with concern coursed through Jayceon, and he quickly dialed Arabella’s number. But the call went straight to voicemail, her silence echoing in his mind like a haunting melody.

Back in his car, unease settled in like a heavy fog. He sent her a flurry of texts, each one more desperate than the last, but the silence continued to taunt him.

Steve, noticing the grim look on Jayceon’s face, attempted to lighten the mood, “Mr. Melendez, I’ve heard Port City is a veritable shopping paradise for women. Your wife works so hard; a little indulgence wouldn’t hurt her, right?”

Jayceon nodded, though his mind was still racing. He recalled how his aunt had once brought back lovely gifts for Arabella and her family. Perhaps Arabella wanted to reciprocate, to pick out something special for them.

Yet, the nagging thought that she might still be upset with him lingered. He hoped that a little time away would help her unwind, but as night enveloped the city, Jayceon found himself pacing the expansive room, his thoughts spiraling into a vortex of anxiety.

The clock ticked ominously, and panic clawed at him, a visceral sense that something dreadful was imminent.

Just after three in the morning, unable to bear the uncertainty any longer, Jayceon called Steve, urgency lacing his voice. “Find out where Arabella is. Track her phone location.”

The following morning, at 8:30 AM, the atmosphere in the Melendez Group’s CEO office was thick with tension.

Steve burst in, his expression grave. “Mr. Melendez, we’ve just located your wife. She’s moved from the hotel to Port City General Hospital.”

Jayceon’s coffee cup paused mid-sip, the warmth draining from his face. “Get in touch with Port City General Hospital immediately.”

Steve steeled himself for the news he had to deliver. “It appears your wife has scheduled an abortion for ten o’clock.”

The word hit Jayceon like a freight train; the coffee cup slipped from his fingers, shattering on the floor, shards scattering like his hopes.
