The moment Arabella entered the room, the two men exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of surprise and concern.

Arabella, her voice slightly slurred, broke the silence, “What are you guys doing here?”

Jayceon, noticing the unmistakable signs of her intoxication, turned to Steve, his brow furrowed with irritation. “You didn’t close the door properly when you came in, did you?”

Caught off guard, Steve instinctively placed a hand over his heart, his voice shaky as he replied, “I, uh, was probably too nervous, I…”

As Steve fumbled for words, Jayceon’s attention was diverted. He turned just in time to see Arabella stride purposefully into the bedroom, her confidence buoyed by the alcohol.
