Mr Melendez,Your Wife Wants Divorce Long ago novel Chapter 285

**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 285**

Every time an argument erupted between her and Jayceon, he would retreat into silence, a familiar pattern that had become all too predictable. It was as if a switch flipped within him, and instead of engaging, he would simply withdraw, avoiding any confrontation. This was a trait deeply rooted in his upbringing, a part of his very essence that seemed immutable, as if it were carved into his soul. Arabella often found herself grappling with her frustration, realizing that her anger was futile.

With a weary sigh, Jayceon shifted the conversation, his voice low and strained. “I haven’t been sleeping well lately. Do you still have any of that medicine you prepared for me before?”

Arabella’s gaze traveled to Jayceon’s eyes, where exhaustion lingered like a heavy fog. It stirred something in her—a mix of concern and irritation. She hesitated, weighing her words carefully before responding. “If you’re feeling unwell, you should really go to the hospital and see a doctor.”

As she opened the car door, ready to escape the tension, Jayceon’s hand shot out, gripping her wrist with a surprising urgency. “You’d bring medicine to Blaire in the middle of the night. Are our three years of marriage worth less than one of your patients?”

Coldly, Arabella shook off his hand, her heart racing with a mix of anger and disbelief. “You really don’t measure up,” she shot back, her voice steady but laced with hurt.

With a heavy heart, Arabella slid into the driver’s seat and ignited the engine, the sound reverberating in the stillness of the night. As she pulled away from the Melendez mansion, Tabitha stood at the threshold of the living room, watching the taillights of Arabella’s car disappear into the darkness. Her gaze then fell upon her son, Jayceon, standing alone in the garden, rain cascading down, soaking him to the bone.

If only he had foreseen this moment. If only he had understood the consequences of his actions.

With a deep sigh of resignation, Tabitha called out, “Oliver, please bring my son inside. I need to speak with him.”

In the tea room on the first floor, the aroma of freshly brewed tea filled the air as Tabitha poured a steaming cup for Jayceon. He placed his phone on the table, an unspoken tension hanging between them. “Mom, don’t take what Arabella said to heart,” he urged, his tone defensive.

Tabitha shook her head, disappointment etched on her face. “Jay, you know better than anyone that the Melendez family appears whole only because I’m holding it together with sheer patience!”

Her voice grew more intense. “Anyone can survive without anyone else in this world. Even though I’m your mother, don’t you dare take my sacrifices for this family for granted.”

A flicker of guilt crossed Jayceon’s features, and he forced a smile, the weight of her words pressing down on him like a heavy cloak. “Mom, you really did listen to what Arabella said,” he replied, choosing to deflect rather than confront the truth.

Tabitha paused, her eyes narrowing as she studied him. “I did listen to Arabella, and there are some things I hope you’ll reflect on as well.”

“Jay, you’re handsome, incredibly intelligent, well-educated, and resourceful. You’re a gentleman to outsiders, loyal and devoted to Georgina. But have you ever truly considered how you treat Arabella?”

Her voice softened, but the gravity remained. “For Georgina’s sake, you’ve worn down Arabella’s feelings for you. You’ve subjected her to pain and despair that surpasses even that of a divorce.”

“Just because Arabella loves you doesn’t mean she should always be passive, suppressed, and controlled by you, to the point where she doesn’t even dare to think about having a child.”
