**Chapter 312**

As the clock struck 4:30 in the morning, Jayceon quietly slipped his spare key into the lock, the familiar click echoing in the stillness of the house. He pushed the door open and stepped into the master bedroom, where the world outside was still cloaked in darkness.

The gentle glow of dawn barely seeped through the curtains, casting soft shadows across the room. With a tender care, Jayceon climbed into bed, his heart racing at the thought of being close to Arabella once more. He instinctively wrapped his arms around her, feeling the warmth radiating from her body through the blanket. As he closed his eyes, he was enveloped by a sense of peace he had longed for.

Years ago, he had battled the relentless grip of insomnia, nights stretching into endless hours of restlessness. After marrying Arabella, she had introduced him to a myriad of remedies, each one more hopeful than the last. Yet, he had never confessed the truth: it was not the pills or potions that had healed his sleepless nights, but rather the soothing presence of her being.

Arabella possessed a delicate scent, an enchanting blend of her natural fragrance intermingled with the calming essence of herbs. Whenever he lay beside her, inhaling that comforting aroma, his body would instinctively relax, surrendering to the embrace of slumber. It was for this reason that, throughout their three years of marriage, he had never once spent a night apart from her.

But since the day Arabella had filed for divorce, his nights had transformed into a torment of sleeplessness. The quality of his sleep had deteriorated to the point where a full night’s rest felt like a distant memory.

In that quiet moment, as he lay next to her, he yearned to reclaim the intimacy they once shared, to hold her close and drift into a natural sleep, free from the burdens of the world. Jayceon felt his body gravitate toward Arabella, a magnetic pull that he could not resist.

“Arabella,” he whispered to himself, his heart heavy with longing. “Let’s begin anew after this divorce. I will make you want to return to me.”

“I want no one but you,” he thought, a desperate plea echoing in his mind.

The morning light began to filter into the room, and Arabella stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open to find Jayceon beside her. He lay there in his pajamas, peaceful and oblivious to the world, his brow slightly furrowed in sleep. One hand rested on her wrist, a silent connection that both comforted and pained her.

For a moment, Arabella remained silent, absorbing the sight of him. Then, with a gentle tug, she pulled her hand from his grasp and softly roused him from his slumber.

Jayceon, still groggy from the remnants of last night’s indulgence, blinked against the morning light. A dull ache throbbed in his head as he took in Arabella’s presence, standing by the bed, her expression unreadable.

“I may have had a bit too much to drink last night,” he mumbled, attempting to brush off the haze of his hangover.

Arabella’s voice was steady, “City Hall opens at nine. We should aim to get there early. You need to get ready.”

Whether Jayceon was genuinely intoxicated or merely putting on an act was inconsequential. What truly mattered was the impending acquisition of their Divorce Certificate, a finality they both had to face.

As Arabella pulled her hand away and began preparing for the day, Jayceon remained seated on the edge of the bed, his gaze fixated on her retreating figure. A sense of loss washed over him as he watched her move about, the reality of their situation sinking deeper into his chest.
