**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
**By J.S. Caldwell**
**Chapter 328**
As the phone buzzed against her ear, Gloria’s voice cut through the silence like a sharp knife. “You’re getting back together with Jayceon, so why on earth are you inviting his ex-wife?”
Georgina, poised and composed, lifted her glass of water with delicate fingers, savoring the coolness as she took a measured sip. The clarity of the liquid mirrored her intentions, and she replied with a calm that belied the storm brewing inside her. “Mom, you and my brother should go with my sister-in-law. No matter what it takes, I need you to bring that bitch to my birthday party.”
The words dripped from her lips with a venomous sweetness. She envisioned Arabella’s face contorted with jealousy as she witnessed Jayceon showering her with affection and thoughtful gifts, a spectacle of love that would lay bare the truth of their rekindled romance. Just thinking about it sent a thrill down her spine; the anticipation of Arabella’s resentment was almost intoxicating.
Half an hour later, they stood outside the Palmer residence, the night cloaked in an uneasy tension. Gloria, her voice smooth yet assertive, addressed Arabella. “Dr. Palmer, tonight Mr. Melendez is celebrating my daughter’s birthday and intends to reconcile with her. Georgina mentioned you’ve been working diligently to help her with her insomnia, so she wanted to extend an invitation for you to join the festivities.”
Kayla, Arabella’s sister, glared at the trio standing at the door, her anger palpable. “You come here knocking in the middle of the night, disturbing the neighbors! If you don’t leave this instant, I swear I’ll call the police!”
Georgina’s sister-in-law stepped forward, hands firmly planted on her hips, her expression a mixture of disbelief and disdain. “Dr. Palmer, please tell me you’re not still holding onto the hope of getting back together with Mr. Melendez?”
Roderick, Arabella’s father, stepped into the fray, his voice firm and unyielding. “My daughter is already divorced from that Melendez fellow. Who he chooses to be with is none of our business. Now, I suggest you all leave, or I won’t be so polite!”
Georgina’s brother interjected, his tone earnest. “My sister asked us to invite Dr. Palmer. She genuinely wants to be friends.”
Gloria’s finger jabbed in Arabella’s direction, her accusation sharp. “You! You keep making excuses to avoid this invitation; you must have something to hide. You’re still clinging to the Melendez family’s wealth and status, aren’t you? You can’t bear the thought of him being with my daughter, so you’re too frightened to show up!”
Arabella stood before them, the weight of their accusations heavy in the air. She turned to her parents, her voice calm yet resolute. “Dad, Mom, don’t worry about me. Please, go back inside and rest. I’ll go with them.”
