**Chapter 333**

With the weight of the moment hanging heavily in the air, Jayceon faced Georgina, his voice steady yet laced with an undercurrent of regret. “Georgina, we shared a past, and I did entertain the thought of marrying you. But when we crossed paths again after those long six years, I was shattered to see the state you were in. It broke my heart to witness your decline.”

Jayceon continued, his tone shifting slightly as he revealed the truth. “I took care of you, yes, behind my wife’s back, and I did favor you, but I never once considered leaving my wife for you.”

Georgina’s laughter erupted, sharp and mocking, cutting through the tension like a knife. “Oh, Jayceon, even if you never wanted to, the fact remains—you and your wife are divorced now, aren’t you?”

A shadow passed over Jayceon’s face, darkening his features. “Georgina, I agreed to the divorce because I wanted a new beginning with my wife. You were never a part of that decision.”

His words struck Georgina like daggers, piercing her heart with a cruel precision. The laughter faded from her lips, replaced by a fierce glint in her eyes, a storm brewing within her. “So, you’ve been playing me all along, haven’t you? Was this all just a setup for today?” she spat, her voice low and filled with venom.

Jayceon’s silence spoke volumes, and in that moment, Georgina felt the walls of her carefully constructed facade begin to crumble. The weight of despair crashed down on her, and she turned to the crowd, her voice rising in a manic crescendo. “Yes, that’s right! I killed him!”

With a wild gesture, she pointed an accusatory finger at Jayceon, her voice trembling with unhinged emotion. “It’s your fault for being so brilliant, so exceptional! And your family’s fault for being so wealthy! I was entranced by you the moment our eyes met!”

Georgina continued, her voice rising with fervor, “I concocted a plan to become your savior, to make you see me through a different lens, to earn your unwavering trust. I’ve been scheming from the very start!”

She paused, her breath hitching with the weight of her confessions. “Initially, I took that ten million dollars to secure a place in another High Society family, but who could have predicted that scoundrel Wynter would refuse to marry me even when he knew I was pregnant? I had no choice but to keep his child to extract a fortune in child support from him.”

Her voice grew more intense, fueled by desperation. “Mark is just an illegitimate child. I got rid of him for you, so now no one can contest your claim to the Melendez family fortune. Even if we were to rekindle our relationship, that old bastard won’t be a threat anymore.”

Georgina’s voice turned bitter, her words dripping with resentment. “Jayceon, you were born at the pinnacle of privilege. You’ve never tasted poverty, so how could you possibly understand the misery that we, the less fortunate, endure?”
