**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**

**Chapter 368**

The silence stretched between them, thick and palpable, as Arabella remained resolutely quiet. Amanda, sensing the tension, finally broke the stillness, her voice edged with determination. “Mr. Melendez is currently the most suitable candidate I can think of for a marriage alliance with the Collins Clan. I want to give it a shot.” The words hung in the air, heavy with implications.

Arabella, maintaining her composure, responded with a calmness that belied the storm brewing within her. “Ms. Collins, Jayceon and I are already divorced. No matter what unfolds in the future, I won’t go back. If you want him, go for it. You don’t need to tell me.” Her heart raced, but she refused to show any sign of vulnerability.

Amanda, undeterred, took a small, purposeful step closer, her high heels clicking assertively against the floor. “But it takes two to tango,” she countered, her tone lowering conspiratorially. “If you’re as certain as you claim, Ms. Palmer, and haven’t given Mr. Melendez any hope, why would he risk his life to save you?”

Arabella raised an eyebrow, the challenge igniting a flicker of defiance in her eyes. “He wants to be a fool for love. What can I do about it?” The words dripped with sarcasm, a defense mechanism against the encroaching threat Amanda represented.

The air crackled with tension as the two women locked gazes, each silently daring the other to make a move.

Amanda took another step closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “Dr. Palmer, I told you, I’m not Georgina. I have the family and the power to eliminate any woman who dares to linger around Jayceon.”

Arabella bristled at the arrogance in Amanda’s tone, a fire igniting within her. “If you’re so certain, Amanda, then why didn’t you get rid of me when Jayceon married me?” The question was sharp, an arrow aimed straight at Amanda’s inflated ego.

With a smirk, Amanda replied, “Because I knew you and Jayceon wouldn’t last.” Her confidence was unsettling, a reminder of the ruthless world they inhabited.

“Whether it’s you or that Georgina, neither of you are in Jayceon’s league. A breakup was just a matter of time,” Amanda added, her words laced with a smug finality.

The two women stood mere inches apart, their breaths mingling in the charged atmosphere. After a moment of silence, Amanda offered Arabella a polite glance before turning sharply on her heel and striding away, her confidence radiating from her every step.

Sophie emerged from the exam room, her eyes following Amanda’s retreating figure. “Chief Palmer, that woman is way too arrogant, don’t you think?” she remarked, a hint of disbelief in her voice.

Arabella shrugged off Amanda’s words, her resolve unshaken. Just as Amanda had stated, she wasn’t Georgina. Her own family was prominent, and she had spent years at her father’s side, diligently managing the complexities of the Collins Clan’s enterprise. She was a woman of fierce ambition, battling her own brother for control of their family legacy.

As she observed Kimberly approaching from a distance, Arabella decided to dismiss Sophie, wanting to focus on her sister-in-law.

Kimberly pulled Arabella into a secluded corner, her voice a whisper filled with concern. “Sister-in-law, did that Amanda woman say something to you just now?”

Arabella cleared her throat, her demeanor shifting as she corrected Kimberly gently. “Your brother and I are divorced. I’m actually two years older than you. From now on, just call me Arabella.”

Kimberly’s expression fell, her disappointment evident. “It’s not that I don’t want to, I just can’t get used to it right away.”
