My Alpha Stepbrother's Dirty Secret novel Chapter 180

CHAPTER 70

ANNA’S POV

Men dressed in police uniforms came in with a van, and the moment they saw Ryan and I, they bowed in acknowledgment. They moved quickly, pushing back the paparazzi and trying to calm the chaos that was spiraling out of control.

It wasn’t easy, the shouting was loud, the flashing cameras blinding, the anger of the crowd overwhelming, but little by little the guards managed to bring it down, forcing the people back, creating a path for us to escape.

They guided us straight to the private jet hangar, and before I even knew it, we were inside the jet, taking off. Everything happened so fast, it felt like my feet never touched the ground.

In the jet, I couldn’t stop shaking. My hands were trembling as I held Ryan close, pressing my face into his chest.

Ryan… I’m scared… I’ve never been this scared in my life,” I whispered, my voice breaking. I could still hear the angry chants in my head, see the eggs smashing against the car, the cardboard signs calling him a rapist, calling for him to die.

He kissed my neck gently, his arms strong and steady as they wrapped around me, making me feel safe.

Baby, listen to me,” he said firmly. “I’ll take care of everything. You don’t need to worry about anything.

Just hold on to me.”

I nodded weakly, burying my face deeper into him, breathing him in like he was the only thing keeping me sane. He kissed my hair, his lips soft but his whole body tense, like he was fighting a storm inside while trying to protect me from it.

Then his phone started ringing nonstop, one call after another, and for the first time I saw a side of him I’d never seen before. He answered with a sharp tone, his words fast and commanding. “I don’t care how much it costs, I want it gone. And anyone spreading it? Shut them down. Sue them. Threaten them. I don’t care. Handle it.”

He was silent for a few seconds as he listened, his jaw ticking, then he spat, “I don’t want excuses, I want results.” He ended that call and immediately dialed another, his voice never softening. “Get the lawyers ready, I want names of every single bastard behind this article. Dig deep, no matter how far back you need to go. If anyone helped spread it, I want them exposed and destroyed. Do you understand me?”

I stared at him, stunned, because I had never seen him like this, never seen him so ruthless, so powerful, as if he was born to sit in that seat, commanding, ordering, making things happen with just his words. I held onto him tighter, whispering, “Ryan…”

He glanced at me for a moment, his eyes softening as they met mine, and he leaned in to kiss my forehead. “Don’t look so scared, baby. This is me protecting you, protecting us. Nobody touches you.

Nobody touches what’s mine.”

The rest of the flight was quiet except for his endless phone calls, every second another order, another demand, another confirmation. I stayed pressed against him, my hands never leaving his, even when I felt exhausted, because I knew if I let go, the fear outside would drown me again.

When we landed, Ryan squeezed my hand and guided me out of the jet. “Stay close to me,” he murmured, his voice low but firm. I nodded, gripping his hand tightly as we walked down the stairs together.

And then, as if the nightmare wasn’t over, the moment we stepped down, more paparazzi rushed toward us like vultures.

“Mr. Wolfe, is it true you raped your sister?”

“Anna, did your brother force himself on you? Why didn’t you fight back?”

“Are you covering for him because of the company?!”

Their voices were sharp and cruel, like knives being thrown straight at us. My stomach turned as tears stung my eyes. I held Ryan’s sleeve so tightly my nails dug into the fabric, my body trembling as the cameras flashed in my face.

Ryan didn’t flinch. He didn’t even look at them. His voice was low, calm, terrifyingly steady. “Seize every camera,” he ordered the guards. “Break them. And I want names. Every company these bastards represent, I want them destroyed.”

Yes Prince!”

“NOW!

The guards moved fast, snatching cameras and smashing them against the ground, the sound of glass and metal breaking echoing in the air.

The guards led us quickly through a private exit where my parents were waiting, along with Grandma, Grandpa, Beta Logan, and Gamma Steve. The moment Mom saw me, she rushed forward and pulled me into her arms, holding me so tight it almost hurt. “Baby, are you okay? Oh my God, are you okay?” she asked frantically, her hands cupping my face, wiping at my tears.

I shook my head, my voice breaking. “They were so scary, Mom… they kept shouting horrible things, throwing things at us… I couldn’t…” I started sobbing again, my chest heaving as the memories rushed back.

Mom kissed my forehead over and over. “Shhh, you’re safe now, baby. You’re safe. I’m here. We’re all here.”

Grandma joined in, wrapping me up in another hug, pecking my forehead. “Don’t cry, sweetheart. They’re just fools with loud mouths. You’re stronger than all of them.” Grandpa patted my back, his voice gentle but firm. “We’ll protect you. You’re not alone in this.”

Meanwhile, Ryan was already talking to Dad, his voice low but serious. Beta Logan and Gamma Steve stood close, nodding, their faces stern. And then I saw him, Alex. The son of Beta Logan. Ryan’s childhood best friend. I hadn’t seen him in years, not since he left for studies in another country. He looked different, older, sharper, but when he saw Ryan, his face lit up. They hugged like brothers, clapping each other on the back, their smiles brief but real.

“I’m glad you made it,” Ryan said, his voice filled with relief.

“Wouldn’t miss it,” Alex replied with a small smile. “Especially not now.”

I realized then that maybe Ryan had chosen him to be his Beta, now that everything was about to change. The thought made me swallow hard. Everything was moving so fast, and I wasn’t sure if I was ready for all of it.

We were being led toward the line of black cars waiting for us, guards all around, and for a second I thought maybe it was finally over, maybe we were safe. But then, just off to the side, away from the row of official cars, I caught a glimpse of something, a car half–hidden in the corners, almost as if it wasn’t meant to be seen.

And standing right beside it… was her.

Sophie.

Her eyes locked on mine instantly, like she’d been waiting for this exact moment, making sure I was the only one who noticed her. And then, slowly, she tilted her head, a very evil smirk spreading across her face.

My blood ran cold.
