My Best Friend’s Father Wants me novel Chapter 1

Enora:

The scent of my bubble gum lip gloss wafted into my nose as I reapplied it on my lips, staring at my reflection through the windshield of a black SUV.

I was nervous as hell to meet my new employer.

What if I did terribly? What if he didn't like me?

It was my first day and I was already going on a thirty-day trip with him armed with only the location of the business trip and nothing more.

His assistant had been involved in an accident just two days ago and Bridget, my best friend, had talked to her father about my need for a job. I needed the job to help me pay off my student loan and I had gotten an email that same night saying I had to prepare for a thirty-day trip the next day as his assistant.

I had been sent his schedule and everything but I still wasn't completely sure what I was to do. This was my first time working for a billionaire and I was both nervous and petrified. I didn't even know what he looked like yet and what he even was like, Bridget never spoke so much about her father, I just knew that he was rich, not that it mattered either way. I had a job that could help me pay off my student loan, that was all I cared about.

I made my way into the airport waiting room and looked around, trying to find him. I found a man who looked like a chauffeur with my name on a black card waved at him and made my way towards him.

"Hi, I'm Enora Lopez,” I pointed at his card with a nervous smile.

"You must be Cain," I said, remembering his name from the details I had gotten from the email I had been sent last night.

He gave me a once-over before gesturing for me to follow him.

The butterflies that had been lightly running around my stomach increased their movement and I shook in both excitement and nervousness as I followed the man.

"You are a little late." The chauffeur said as we advanced further into the airport.

"Yes, I know I'm sorry. There was a lot of traffic on my way here." I explained. It wasn't a complete lie but I wasn't about to tell him that I'd had a running stomach due to my nervousness.

"Mr Wright is not going to like that." The man mumbled and my stomach twisted.

Of course, on the first day of work, I had managed to fuck it up.

Bridget had gone through a lot of corners to get me this job with her father and I didn't want to disappoint her and make her look stupid after her help.

"I know and I'm sorry." I apologized

"Is there any way I can make it up to him?"

The man suddenly burst out laughing, "Relax, I was just pulling your legs. He just arrived about a minute ago."

I let out a sigh of relief and chuckled.

"Funny guy," I said to him but he didn't laugh.

We passed the gate to the airport and made our way towards a private jet that had Wright 's flight written on it.

"Go in." Cain gestured for me to go up and I nodded.

"Thanks for your help," I waved at him and proceeded to climb the stairs.

I walked into the plane and gasped at the coziness of it.

This was the first time I had been in a private plane and I had to say it already felt like I'd have a good flight

An air hostess came out of the cabin behind me and beamed at me.

"Miss Lopez, welcome, you may sit. Mr Wright will be with you shortly." She said before walking away and passing through a door to the back.

I took my seat and appreciated the view.

"Miss Lopez," a thick, baritone voice called my name from behind me and I jumped, startled by the voice.

I looked back and my breath caught in my lungs as I stared at the most handsome fucking man I had ever seen in my life.

Brunette hair, brown eyes, and a square jaw greeting with somewhat of awe in his eyes.

He looked like sex on a stick and was exactly my type.

There was an intimidating aura about him that made me want to run in the other direction. He looked like he could kill you with a snap of his finger and also like he could fuck too.

"Do you speak?" He suddenly asked and it only made me realize that I had been staring at him like a love-struck puppy for an uncomfortable amount of time.

"Um, y…yes. I'm looking for Mr. Wright,”

I said, still staring at him. How could somebody be so hot!

"You are looking at him." He uttered dryly , "Have a seat," he said, walking past me like I was simply an inconvenience to him. His cologne wafted into my nostrils and the need to smell him overwhelmed me.

I blinked at him. He didn't look a day over thirty-three. When did he father Bridget? when he was thirteen?

His piercing eyes accessed me like I was a delicious-looking piece of cake and I shifted on my feet.

It didn't occur to me that I had been staring at him like a dog in heat until he looked up at me.
