On the flight, Michael tried to bring up the past with Jessica.

He said he had truly been unconscious when his parents took him away, otherwise, they would already be married and living happily in Jelaston.

“I believe that with our abilities, we could’ve lived well even without the support of our families,” said Michael, envisioning the future.

Jessica remained calm throughout, occasionally glancing at messages on her phone.

He had seen Chris at the company before.

By all appearances, they seemed like a loving couple–not estranged at all.

Shannon lowered her voice. “Don’t worry about what Mr. Hall says Just remember your task.”

Eric nodded. “Got it. Three more hours until we land. I’m going to sleep for a bit.”

Staying up late to work on design drafts was normal for them.
