My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 327

Andrew Lane’s voice was cold—so cold it left no room for argument, as if every word carved itself into stone.

The group seemed stunned into stillness. The woman’s shoulders trembled, her face drained of color. Even the fine lines at the corners of her eyes quivered as she shrank back, curling her hands in fear. Mr. Green’s eyes flickered with surprise, but a calculating glint quickly replaced it and he bowed his head even lower.

Emily Blair, who’d been staring off into the distance, furrowed her brows at the sound of Andrew Lane’s voice and turned to glance at him.

Andrew Lane’s gaze was deep and unreadable, his composure unshaken, his thoughts hidden behind a mask of calm.

Standing nearby, Mr. Green kept his head bowed as he quietly observed the exchange between Emily Blair and Andrew Lane, his unease growing with every second.

According to the rumors online, Andrew Lane was supposed to despise Emily Blair. If he didn’t, why would he have let her become the target of relentless ridicule, doing nothing to defend her and even fueling the fire with that pointed statement about Isabella Austin?

Had he misjudged Andrew Lane completely?

Because this pattern of Andrew Lane’s repeated, almost obsessive, interference didn’t seem self-serving. If anything, it looked more like the actions of someone fixated on Emily Blair—the very person the world believed he hated most.

None of that mattered now. What mattered was satisfying Andrew Lane.

His niece had always been hopelessly foolish. If not for the sake of keeping up appearances with family and friends, he’d never have brought this bunch of relatives to live in the city.

Now, it was painfully clear: Olivia Moore couldn’t stay here any longer. She’d barely been in his care for a few years before she’d managed to offend Andrew Lane—utterly reckless.

If he could just appease Andrew Lane tonight, he’d make sure Olivia Moore and her son were sent straight back to the old house in the countryside, under watch.

But if Andrew Lane wasn’t satisfied…

A cold, shrewd light flickered in Mr. Green’s eyes.

But now, watching Andrew Lane at work, she had to admit he wasn’t so bad. At least under his influence, she got to see Mr. Green and Olivia Moore forced to swallow their pride and bow their heads to her. It was both hilarious and deeply satisfying.

Olivia Moore clenched her jaw, took a shaky breath, and blurted out, “Ms. Blair, I’m sorry. My son and I were wrong. I apologize to you—I really do. I feel ashamed and truly sorry. I sincerely hope you can forgive us. I’m so, so sorry!”

Her voice rang out, echoing through the hospital room, her face flushed with humiliation and resentment.

When she finished speaking, Olivia Moore bowed deeply to Emily Blair, her body bent at a perfect right angle, and stayed there, unmoving.

Her son, hiding behind her, was yanked forward. Olivia Moore pressed down on his neck, forcing him to bow as well.

Mr. Green forced a smile, looking from Andrew Lane to Emily Blair. “Mr. Lane, Ms. Blair, are you satisfied now?”
