Emily laughed softly. “Of course not. Isabella Austin is sly—she’s quick on her feet. If I let her look for evidence herself, who knows what she might come up with? If she manages to pull something out of thin air, I’ll be the one with nothing to say. I need to make my own move—otherwise, I’m just waiting to be cornered.”

Tristan’s low chuckle filled the car. “So what’s your plan?”

Emily arched an eyebrow. “Did you hear about that international piano competition coming up?”

Tristan’s eyes lit up. “You’re planning to enter?”

Emily smiled. “That’s right. I’m signing up.”
