My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 560

“Later, I happened to visit the Lane family’s place, and I found out Andrew still had feelings for me. I was so happy,” Isabella Austin said, her cheeks tinged pink. “That day, I went into Andrew’s room, and under his bed, I found a love letter Emily had written to him. When Andrew found out, he didn’t get angry with Emily. He just told her not to have these kinds of thoughts. And right in front of her, he hugged me—we thought that would make things clear for Emily.”

The more Cynthia Rivera listened, the more indignant she became, her face tightening with outrage as if she’d lived through the whole thing herself. Her mouth opened and closed, ready to speak, but she didn’t want to interrupt Isabella.

Isabella continued, “Honestly, Andrew and I weren’t sure if Emily really understood. After that, she just kept clinging to Andrew, refusing to let go—even after she found out we were getting engaged and I was already pregnant with Andrew’s child. Andrew tried to distance himself and started treating her coldly, but it didn’t help.”

Cynthia was so angry she could barely get her words out. “I knew it. I knew Emily Blair was that kind of woman…”

“Isabella, go on,” she urged.

Isabella pressed her lips together and went on, “It wasn’t just Andrew and me who were exhausted by all this—the whole Lane family was. They always supported our relationship and kept pushing us to get married. They cared for Emily too, but they never approved of the way she acted. Still, they never blamed her or tried to punish her; they just hoped she’d get her act together and stop chasing after something pointless.”

“But Emily didn’t change. Andrew was at his wits’ end. The Lane family couldn’t take it anymore, so they finally decided she had to move out—at the very least, she couldn’t keep running into Andrew. But even after she moved, nothing changed. She kept chasing after him and even caused a bunch of drama outside. In the end, the Lane family had no choice but to cut ties with her.”

“After that, things were much more peaceful for Andrew and me. But look at what’s happening now—Emily’s come back. She knows we’ve been married for five years and have a child, but she’s starting up with her old tricks again. I just… I don’t even know what to say anymore.”
