The prize money from the design showcase came through. With the funds in her account, Rebekah headed to the auction house.
As she entered, she saw Jensen standing not far away. He was dressed casually in a black long-sleeved shirt and jeans, his silver hair catching the light. He was speaking to someone, his gaze lowered and intense, his perfect profile drawing more than a few looks.
"Keep an eye on that," he said.
"Yes, Mr. Hawthorne."
The assistant-like man who replied then looked up and saw Rebekah. "Miss Fletcher?"
Rebekah looked at the unfamiliar face. "Do you know me?"
The assistant darted a nervous glance at Jensen, who was clearly surprised by Rebekah's sudden appearance. He shot the assistant a cold look.
"I… I've heard about you from Jen… Jensen," the assistant stammered. "I have to go." He practically fled. He had just called his boss by his full name!
Rebekah watched him go, a sense of unease creeping over her. She turned to Jensen, her eyes narrowed. "He called you Mr. Hawthorne?"
A flicker of something passed through Jensen's deep-set eyes, but his expression remained unchanged. "He's a colleague. We joke around and call each other 'boss.'" He said it so calmly, as if it were nothing.
Sienna pouted. She had grown up around all the handsome heirs and was tired of them.
Just then, Candice spotted Rebekah and Jensen. The sight of Rebekah reignited her anger. She was still fuming about her encounter with Rory, and she needed to take it out on someone. "Sienna, what do you think of him?"
Sienna followed her gaze and saw Jensen. She had seen him twice before, both times with Rebekah. She had been struck by his looks then, but she'd been with her boyfriend. Now, however…
She watched him from afar. The cool light of the auction hall highlighted his exquisite profile. Even in casual clothes, his broad shoulders and narrow waist were undeniably attractive. Having a boyfriend that handsome wouldn't be so bad.
Before she could get lost in her thoughts, Candice was pulling her toward them.
