Rory, wearing sunglasses and a silver headset, steered with one hand. "Don't worry, big brother. I don't know why Justin invited every big name in the Capital to this dinner, but since I'm here, I'll find out what I can about our little sister."
A calm, steady voice replied from the headset. "Keep an eye on Benjamin and Candice's relationship. And when you have time, go to the police station and ask about that hit-and-run incident involving our sister."
"Got it."
Just as he hung up, a flash of blue in the distance caught his eye. Before he could get a clear look at the woman, two or three bodyguards rushed out and dragged her away, their movements rough and merciless.
Rory frowned. A kidnapping in broad daylight?
He floored it, pulling up to the mansion. As he got out, a butler hurried to greet him. "Mr. Powell, I presume? This way, please."
Rory glanced around, but the woman in blue was gone. "I think I just saw some bodyguards dragging a woman away. What was that about?"
The butler's eyes darted nervously to the side before he smiled at Rory. "You must have been mistaken, Mr. Powell. The dinner is about to begin. Please, follow me."
Rory gave the butler a thoughtful look but said nothing more, following him inside.
His arrival immediately drew attention.
"Rory! Is that Rory from the movies?"
"It is. But even if he's a top-tier actor, he's still just an entertainer. Why would the Forrester family invite him?"
Seeing Candice's fawning, Benjamin felt a pang of irritation. He walked over, his face a cold mask. "A pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Powell. You're even more handsome in person than on screen."
Benjamin extended his hand.
Rory simply smiled, making no move to shake it. *So this is my little sister's useless husband,* he thought. The way he was shielding Candice certainly didn't match the devoted husband image he projected to the public.
Just as he was about to say something, the image of the woman in blue flashed through his mind. His expression turned grim.
If Benjamin was here, where was his sister?
