"Tell me about it. The whole lot of them, old and young, are scum. It's a miracle they've stayed in business this long," Rory grumbled as he got into his car.
Just as he drove off, Jensen stepped out from behind a pillar near the hospital entrance.
*Little Sis?*
His guess had been right. Rebekah was the girl who had been switched at birth with the Powells. He thought for a moment, sent a message to his assistant, and headed into the hospital.
Rebekah was admiring the signed jacket, her spirits lifted. Despite being beaten, something good had come out of the day. She had admired Rory for years; he was handsome and a brilliant actor. Not only had he rescued her, but she now had his autograph and his number. The series of shocks had left her feeling dizzy.
"You really like that signature, don't you?"
"Of course. I need to preserve this jacket forever," Rebekah answered automatically before realizing the voice wasn't her own. She looked up to see Jensen standing by her bed.
He was looking down at her, his silver hair ruffled by the breeze from the open window. His usually playful, charming eyes were now serious.
*Is he upset?*
Rebekah set the jacket aside. "How did you know I was here?" she asked, then immediately regretted it. Faye was his boss; of course she had told him.
Jensen placed a container of soup and some fruit on the side table. "My boss told me."
But her smiling face disarmed him. He set up the table and placed the soup and snacks in front of her. "Something light for now. I'll bring you something more substantial later."
Rebekah handed him a pair of chopsticks, surprised. "What do you mean?"
"My boss told me to take care of you. It's part of my job," he said, accepting the chopsticks and placing some food on her plate.
"You don't have to do that. I can just hire a nurse."
Before Jensen could reply, a tense, angry voice came from the doorway. "You have a husband. Why would you need a nurse?"
