My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 156

Rebekah frowned. *Had Benjamin lost his mind?*

"Don't listen to him." she said.

Benjamin wouldn't risk doing anything rash, not until he had the Hawthorne Group project secured. Besides, she didn't think he was capable of murder.

A slight smile touched Jensen's lips, but he said nothing.

Rebekah snuck a sideways glance at him. He was dressed casually today in a black t-shirt and black pants. As the car moved through the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, the light caught on his silver hair, making it shimmer like a galaxy.

"Pretty handsome, right?"

Jensen's sudden question made her jump. She snapped back to reality and met his gaze as he glanced over at her. A blush crept up her cheeks, and she quickly changed the subject.

"For a Hawthorne family driver, you dress pretty casually."

She hadn't paid much attention to his clothes before. For a man with two million in savings, a few custom suits and expensive clothes seemed normal. But after what Patricia had said at the mall yesterday, she'd started to wonder.

"A driver for the Hawthornes? That suit must have cost a fortune in tailoring fees alone, probably tens of thousands for the whole thing. A driver can afford that?"

"And even if he splurged once, it's a weekday. A family like the Hawthornes would have their drivers on call 24/7. He wouldn't just be wandering around like that."

It was true. Ever since Rebekah had met Jensen, he seemed to have a lot of free time. And she clearly remembered seeing him in several other suits of the same quality. He'd only been working for a few years. Two million in savings, multiple suits worth a small fortune, and even his casual wear was high-end. No matter how well the Hawthornes paid their drivers, it couldn't be that well.

Was Jensen really just a driver?

Jensen caught the note of probing in her voice.

"If it's a good show, why can't I come watch?"

"Because while the outcome will be good, the show itself will be ugly."

Jensen glanced over at her and saw her give him a cheerful wink. His eyes flickered, and he quickly turned his attention back to the road. The street ahead was straight and smooth, but his heart felt like it was racing up a steep hill.

An hour later, the Maybach pulled up in front of The Victory Chop House. Jensen led Rebekah up to a private room on the second floor.

Wyatt Hawthorne and Sylvia White were already waiting inside. As the door opened, two pairs of eyes swiveled toward them.

Rebekah and Jensen stepped into the room and were met with two sets of intense, eager gazes.
