My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 28

Chapter 28

She might have even been tempted to overlook his coldness, his favoritism, and try to make it work for the sake of their child.

But she knew the truth.

Rebekah tried to pull away, but Benjamin held her fast.

Candice chimed in, Rebekah, you shouldn’t be hanging out with such shady friends. That’s not very appropriate for a married woman.

Her words were like gasoline on a fire. The coldness in Benjamin’s brow deepened.

And what about his shady friends, like you?Rebekah shot back, her gaze sweeping over Candice. What does that make you?

Candice’s face went pale.

As the standoff continued, a low, magnetic voice cut through the tension. Can’t you see she doesn’t want to talk to you?

The voice was cool and calm. Rebekah looked up to see Jensen approaching, a faint, unreadable smile on his face as he watched them from a few feet away. She had no idea how much he had overheard. A sense of unease washed over her, embarrassed that he had witnessed her family drama.

Benjamin finally released her, his eyes narrowing as he sized Jensen up. The man before him had a devilishly handsome face and a refined air that suggested he was more than he seemed. There was an undeniable presence about him, a cold authority that couldn’t be ignored. Yet, for someone so striking, Benjamin couldn’t place him. None of the prominent families came to mind. And his clothes, though wellfitting, were unremarkable. His expression turned dismissive.

And who are you?

Jensen subtly masked the murderous glint in his eyes. The moment he had seen Benjamin grab Rebekah, a violent, primal rage had surged through him. He had to fight the urge to rush forward and snap the man’s neck. Instead, he forced a pleasant, easygoing smile.

I’m Becky’s friend. You must be her exhusband.

*Becky.*

The casual, familiar nickname hung in the air, startling all three of them.

Rebekah frowned instinctively. He never even called her that when they were alone. She glanced at Benjamin and saw his eyes darken with fury, just as she’d expected.

Benjamin’s eyes narrowed further as he scrutinized Jensen again. When had Rebekah met someone like this? He had no money, likely no power, and looked like nothing more than a pretty boy. The thought of this man clinging to Rebekah made Benjamin see red.

He stared hard at Rebekah, his voice a low growl. Is this pretty boy the reason you want a divorce?
