My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 52

Chapter 52

Chapter 52

For the next two days, aside from spending time with Old Mr. Forrester, Rebekah dedicated every waking moment to her design sketches.

The patches Jensen had given her worked remarkably well; after just two applications, the pain in her wrist had subsided significantly. Though her hand still trembled when she held a pencil, with practice, she was able to draw with more control.

Once she had a few designs ready, she messaged Jensen. He sent her the address, and she headed out.

Just as she left, a Bentley pulled up to the Forrester estate. Candice stepped out, instructing the driver to unload the gifts she had brought. Standing before the magnificent gates, a triumphant smile played on her lips.

*Sooner or later,* she thought, *this place will be mine.*

When Rebekah arrived at the location Jensen had sent, she found him waiting for her. He was dressed in a casual, relaxed outfit, his dark hair falling softly over his forehead. The moment she appeared, his captivating, expressive eyes were fixed on her.

“Why are you here?” she asked, walking up to him.

“I had nothing better to do, so I thought I’d come with you to the interview.”

Rebekah looked at him, puzzled. Did he really have that much free time? But she felt it wasn’t her place to ask about his personal affairs.

She followed him into the building.

*Quinn Fashion.*

It was one of the most prestigious high-end brands in the Capital. Stepping into the headquarters, Rebekah felt a flutter of nerves. She had only formally studied design for a year or two and was incredibly rusty. She wasn’t sure if she was ready for an interview at a company of this caliber. Though she was nervous, she didn’t let it show on her face.

Just inside the lobby, Jensen’s phone rang. He gestured for her to go on ahead, saying he would catch up. Rebekah nodded and approached the front desk.

“Hello, I’m here for an interview today. My name is Rebekah, and I have an appointment with Mr. Quinn.”

The receptionist looked her up and down, a hint of disdain in her eyes. “We don’t have any interviews scheduled. You must be in the wrong place.”

“I’m not mistaken. I…” Rebekah trailed off. Jensen had arranged the interview. Had he gotten the time wrong? She wasn’t so sure anymore.

Seeing her hesitation, the receptionist’s expression soured. “The lengths some girls will go to just to get our CEO’s attention these days. Faking an interview… if you want to see Mr. Quinn, you should at least take a look at yourself in the mirror first.”

Rebekah bristled at the accusation. “I am not faking an interview, and I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t make such malicious assumptions.”

The receptionist was taken aback by her sharp retort. “Assumptions? Look at what you’re wearing. This is a high-fashion company. Even if Mr. Quinn were hiring, why would he interview someone with your… lack of taste?”

Rebekah glanced down at her outfit. The clothes were indeed from a few years ago. After becoming a homemaker, Benjamin had given her a modest allowance, and she had learned to be frugal. She wore her clothes for years. She never imagined that an outfit once considered fashionable would now be the reason for her humiliation.

“Just leave. Don’t cause a scene here.”

Just as Rebekah turned to go, Jensen walked in, having finished his call.

“Why didn’t you go up?” he asked.
